Lost XP/level after respeccing attributes?

  • What is your character name in New World: FrootKayk
  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: US East - Cenculiana
  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: I lost XP! I went from level 38 to 37. I was a little ways into the first bubble (xp bar segment) of 38, and now have a little ways to go through the last bubble of 37. (When I say I was a little ways into 38, I mean… I had ~just~ hit 38 shortly before logging off. I would even go as far as saying that I had just as much XP into 38 as I now have to go to get to 38)

I logged on, fast traveled to a few towns, reset my attributes and put them where I wanted them and confirmed. When I closed the attribute window I hit enter, to chat, but saw at the top of my screen that I had unspent points… which is odd because I had just spent ALL of them (somehow, the game isn’t keeping up?). So I opened the attribute window again, and saw that I had 6 MORE points not yet spent… so I spent them. I fast traveled another time or two, and at some point I looked down at my XP bar and noticed that instead of it being almost completely empty & my being level 38, it is now mostly full and I’m level 37. I didn’t die, didn’t fight anything, didn’t turn in any quests or see anything popup/flash on my screen… I simply traveled around to do some shopping, changed my gear, crafted a few things, respecced, and I de-leveled somehow.

  • Is this a bug or an exploit: BUG
  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: I LOST A LEVEL?
  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: Uhm… yeah, sure… I picked 2 flowers (with rested bonus) and got that XP back.
  • (if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced: Not going to do any good to show a SS of my being ‘almost’ level 38 if I don’t have a SS of my being 38 in the first place. But I’ll post one anyways…
  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Your guess is as good as mine!
