Describe the issue you are experiencing: opened more than 1000 “Supply stockpile” Edited to clarify chests in weaver’s fen, with 5 pieces of armor with 2.8 luck, shield with 2.7, 3 pieces of jewelry with 2.5 luck + 0.5 pristine pearl each, using sword to apply the luck bonus of the shield, and life staff with 2.1 luck, also 3 bags with 2.5 luck each. Which rounded is 35% extra luck + 10% for being pvp flagged + monstrous turkey leg food (I think is an extra 5%), giving a total bonus of 50% luck + 3 minor trophys. Considering all this I didn’t get any trophy upgrading item after days and days of intense farming, I just got 1 epic recipe for a low level weapon and nothing else. Compared to void ore which is supposed to be a rarer drop I can get many of them in few hours of farm.
Is this a bug or an exploit: BUG

What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Go with over 50% total luck and farm for days and days stockpile chest and get nothing.
There definitely is an issue with luck and there has been many reports on it.
However, since you stock-piled the chests, I’m curious if the luck is applied to the chest at the time you pick it up, or at the time you open it. Makes a big difference, since you might not be wearing luck gear when you picked it up.
I think what he’s saying is that he opened 1000 supply stockpiles, they’re actually called “stockpiles”, not that he picked something up and opened it later.
I totally agree, a full set of voidbent, luck jewelry, 3 basic (1.0% luck) trophies, and turkey food (5%), and I have only ever gotten a single trophy upgrade item over the last 2 weeks, when I regularly see others pulling one or more a day.
this is my first time hanging on the forums of a massive video game , an am scared/disgusted by

I noticed it a few days ago, I think shortly after our current patch. I was farming for like 6 hrs and only got 3 rare items that weren’t even T5, iirc they were actually T3. And I still have this issue where my luck just isn’t working like it used to.
I have looted 9 total basic trophy artifacts so far and I’ve never looted a legendary one yet. Yes I do weavers run and I do myrk/shattered mines etc.
I see people looting artifacts all the time on my server from the weavers area. I don’t think luck is broken, I just simply think you are not getting so lucky.
I imagine the luck system for stockpiles works something like this.
Roll #1 - Determines which main category your item is going to drop from. There is probably a list like ( Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary )
Roll #2 - Now that the rarity of the item dropping has been rolled on what in that section will it be? ( Weapons, Armor, Recipes, Ammo, Artifact etc )
Roll #3 - What item out of those categories will drop? ( Type of weapon, Type of armor, What kind of ammo, which artifact )
I am probably forgetting some of the possible drop tables with-in these rolls as well. Not to mention the Rare category is going to be the one with the lowest possible % to roll on.
So there could be as few as 3 types of rolls every time we open a stockpile and could be even more than I’m not even thinking of that our luck has to determine for us.
ok, but I’m still curious about when luck is applied. For example, chest you get from clearing corruption areas. If luck is applied when you open them, I could simply hold onto them for a while, then open them all at once when wearing my best luck armor.
also, as far a luck “maybe” being broken. I have a theory that its related to luck on amulets and if you remove the amulet and only wear luck on armor, that seems to work. I believe when wearing a amulet with luck, you end up only getting the luck from the amulet and any gear luck is ignored. When you remove the amulet, you get all the gear luck added together. I could be wrong, but it seems like this is the case to me based on some testing.
Also, nobody knows for sure about luck on shields. Since shield perks only apply when a sword is equipped and drawn, however when you open loot or mine/gather, your sword is retired
I’ve ran over 50 genesis expeditions in full luck (minus pvp) without seeing even a single 600 gs named legendary wep, Something def seems off with luck, rly hope they look into this.
I don’t know how specifically luck works on chest, but considering that works in a similar way as mining luck it should be something like this New World Void Ore Drop Rate - New World Database
anyways, void ore is a rarer drop and I can get easily 4 each day farming, some days I got 10 or more, with just minor trophy, 5 pieces of armor, amulet and pickaxe. I Still believe that luck is not working as intended.
I think it works the same way, just a different chance for different things, and we just increase that chance by X percent. If the chance is small, then increasing it by 50% will not play a visible role. But of course running without this boost is nonsense.
Luck was much better before the flagged “bump”…I’ve played with the amulet thing too and it seems better after removing it. Bottom line is we have no idea if any of this even works at all, and if it does what tiny changes can bug it out i.e. changing gear or porting or logging out etc. Then there’s “TOO MUCH LUCK” say what?! there should be no such thing. For a game that’s so heavily based on different kinds of luck for everything we do, we need a concrete explanation.
your looking at luck for helping the super rare items. Look at luck for lesser rare items when testing if luck is working. How many rare items drop with luck, vs without. Clearly the items with insane low drop rates are impossible to use as test cases since 0.01 vs 0.015 is not going to be noticable unless you test about one million chest.
I don’t think the “too much luck” is a real issue.
We clearly need some view of our characters luck level for each type of luck. Monster/loot, and each gathering. When looking at inventory screen, we need a panel to view it.
I’m wondering why they don’t just add something to your paper doll showing you your “luck” since we really don’t even know the calculations they may be using. It’s also odd that gear uses percentage and trophy uses 100 500 1000 etc numbers. perhaps using a k.i.s.s. system might work better (keep it simple and stupid). now as for the luck issue I have seen ppl who claim (from chat) they wear no luck gear (or even some wearing little luck gear) pull 3 precision engineering tools 2 stack decks and 5 loaded dice and seems ppl who get all the luck gear they can only pull a damn mossy chest or a quartermaster journal. So, if that is any indication the luck system is messed up, I say to those who have been pulling stuff like that go buy a damn lotto ticket. but almost seems like need to test luck gear vs no luck gear to really explore the issue.
