Luck % on shields is useless when looting chests

when you interact with something like a chest you put your weapons away and with the shield you completely lose all bonuses from it when you are not wielding your sword. this needs to be fixed asap IMO

Easy quick solution is to take all stats and perks off the shield and fold them onto the sword.

i think a sword and shield should come as sets. no one is using a sword without a shield

No, but you can. Only need a Shield to activate the shield tree skills.
But you don’t need a Shield to activate any of the left side skills and perks.

Coming as a set means you would need to find a Tower/Sword set specifically for Tanking or a Round/Sword for DPS.

Having it be it’s own equip slot (Ohh AGS should add quiver and and ammo pouch for that slot) works fine since the shield contributes to weight class.
It just needs it’s attributes shifted to the Sword instead of split between the two.
That way you can’t use a shield for a statstick, Which is the only reason it doesn’t provide stats when sheathed right now, but it doesn’t unfairly punish SnS players by cutting off 50% of their weapons stats when looting or gathering.

I was just thinking about this when i got a luck shield during a SM elite chest run

Post this in the bug section and add weight to everyone who has brought this issue up. Because it’s bs that the luck stat drops on shields yet is a no go perk due to how looting works.

It does however work on mobs if you have it out on their death. But i tell ya it’s so dang wonky it’s not funny.

the same could be said for any weapon just because your sheathing the weapon doesnt take away the value of luck your getting from the shield. IF the sword and shield is on WHEN u loot the chest u get the luck. same principle applies to any weapon with luck on it

Shield does not give bonuses when sheathed, to prevent that everyone runs around with a ‘stat stick’.

From what I’ve seen, perks still apply when a weapon is sheathed, as long as it is your active weapon. If that is not the case for the luck perk on a shield, I would love to see your source for that information as confirmation. I have been wondering about this for a while, but haven’t found a definitive answer, just conjecture and hearsay…

Anybody can see this for themselves. Just find a shield with CON on it, and you can see your max health change when you draw/sheath the sword/shield.

A shield should always provide its bonuses if you have a sword equipped (note: not wielding). It’s unfair that a S&S user receives less stats than other builds when switching to their secondary weapon.

Or just fold all attributes onto the sword, as has been suggested.

I’m not even sure that even the luck on weapons count… Because when you open a chest, it also put the weapon away… And if you have a skill activated, it also disable that skill… we know that stats (+str,+int, etc) stay… but what about the perks? who knows.

I wish the devs were more transparent about all this.

Shields dont work the stats on em dissapears when looting a chest

This wont change… otherwise SnS will have an unfair advantage, do you see any other weapons with luck? no (at least i have yet to see one), they just shouldnt be able to roll luck on a shield. That or have the stats contribute whether you use it or not. so any weapon can get the stats from it while not in use… if it contributes to weight it should contribute to stats period.

About as useful as Strength on a life staff and numerous other stats on items that are there just to give this illusion of lots of choices.

I’m just wondering when AGS will fix it, and at least put the shileds stats at the sword… :roll_eyes:
