Luck weapons in store

  • What is your character name in New World: theTruSkillz
  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: US East / Valhalla
  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: Purchased a Fire Staff from trade market that said it had luck, once in my intentory it switched to Empowering Meteor Shower. I paid over 2000 for the luck and got duped
  • Is this a bug or an exploit: I’m guessing bug
  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: It cost me 2000 gold
  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: I’m still trying to sell it for less than I bout it cause no one will pay 2000 for it.
  • (if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced: Didn’t take a picture before where it showed luck. So showing the picture of what it has now is useless
  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Not sure other than search for luck perk for a weapon

This bug has been live since the latest main patch (Into the Void). They stripped luck from this fire staff (it is called Zealot’s Refrain for devs looking into this), but it somehow still bugs and shows as a luck perk when viewed in the auction house. When you receive the weapon after purchasing, you get a fire staff with no luck, instead it has empowering meteor shower.

I actually bought 2 of these fire staffs (spent 5k total) just to test this out, and confirm it was not a one-off incident. I have a lot of gold so I didn’t really care if I was a test dummy lol, but can understand for less wealthy players, this could be a substantial hit.

I also already had a Zealot’s refrain in my inventory prior to this change, and it’s luck stat was also removed, as were both staffs that I purchased from the trading house. At the very least Devs, please update the text for Zealot’s Refrain so it doesn’t actually show luck as a stat, when it is now impossible. Lots of other players have fallen victim to this.

Furthermore, it might be a good idea to back-test your code for future changes similar to this, as this will likely not be a one-off incident in the future, assuming you continue to retroactively change item abilities/stats (without telling anyone), but then also forget to update the corresponding database with said change.

@Seoken That’s exactly what it’s called. I usually don’t have more than 100 gold so spending the 2500 on it definitely hurt.
