Lyonesse not merged?

we don’t want to transfer if a merge is happening .

@Kay we were the top 1 server fr in population and now we need to have another server merge with us i don’t get it why it wasn’t done . so we need to know please

Hello guys, same question here, is a merge planned for Lyonesse ? We want to avoid migrating if it ends up on an empty server or leave a server that will soon be full.

Hum, merge isn’t The solution.

At the moment, players are forced to grind throught mutator and spend their time to do them.
So, no OPR and other stuff, and it lead to people leaving the game, i mean, pvp guys.

Lyonesse already came from 3 merged server, meaning 10-15k account, it should be enought to fil up the server until the game has a mecanic to keep people ( no ranking atm, nothing to fight for )

Another question will come later: how to deal with returning player ?

It’s not enough because everyone quit so now we need nysa and lyonesse to merge together otherwise the rest of the player will quit too.

Hi all,

We do not have any server merges planned in the coming weeks. Please feel free to coordinate with your friends on choosing a world should you wish to move.

I’d also highly recommend checking out the worlds you plan to move to before you do, check out their playstyles, what they like to focus on, etc.! Or maybe there are players looking to move into your world that you’d love to play with! These tokens don’t expire so you are more than welcome to wait until you feel comfortable using the token.

there has been some serious lack of communication on this for all affected by no merge. can we get some kind of all encompassing statement on those who were not merged, why they were not merged and what they can expect. I read this as being a relevant reply to all non merged worlds but that’s an assumption. I know all the worlds not merged have similar concerns atm.

what is the plan going forward if you’re going to leave large segments of your population to fend for themselves? is there going to be some kind of shift in the architecture to account for player decline? there is no excuse for a new game to have this kind of regular decline without all encompassing action to make up for it. anything other than action means the game is failing it’s clientele.

so we need to know if they are working on a solution? this is the kind of communication that we really really need to see. this is what demotivates enough to uninstall. a few words go along way

i mean we are max 20k player at peaks in europe and we have 32 server (after the last merge) it’s wayyyy toooo much server for so low amount of player why dont u shut down alll the useless server and merge all fr into one server it will help in improving lag having less server, u will also pay less bill each month. also why u merged 90% of the server exept for some of us that end up vbeing 200 player online at peaks? why are u making it so hard and complicated trying to ask each other where we go when how… imean just make it simple do it by ur self make one server FR end of problem if there is queu add more slot in server

And then you lock some world for what, I need transfer to UTOPIA. don’t lock this server please, I wanna play with my friend.

  1. you dont need to be a total ass and say terrible things to a Community manager doing their job honestly. Nothing is “preventing” you either from saying it angry normally.

  2. a 5000 player server cap? thats bloody insane, dont you know why MMO’s literally cap them to 2k for people with hardware meant to not survive just extremes amount of players? do you realize how crappy wars can be? Not everyone has a insane gaming PC.

  3. mutations was rushed and adding more content before patching is a bad idea. thats why this month they literally are patching heavily on PTR to add onto the main game eventually. and eventually then you’ll get a content update.

read my post, there are 15 year old games that are handling servers with 35k people.
And as for me being an ass, it is because I am pissed off. I know the corporate hypocrisy and why remaining “polite” is always encouraged. It’s because they don’t want to assume responsibility in the case of a fuck up. So that mistakes have no dire consequences…

Those old games rely on heavily reducing rendering and are top to down usually with lower poly models. however in new world that rendering is kind of important for range and scouting out.i think the only game. While some run off a cluster server network that makes it that people can transfer to other worlds in real time, this however is proven to be just very laggy and rough FPS battles just like EVE online.

thanks for the explanation, this is what the playerbase is expecting though; a next-gen MMO with great graphics and great gameplays mechanics! Is why I love this game so much. It has so much potential. Don’t squander it and keep pushing to provide what modern players demand in 2022!

with the state of the games graphical performance, a good gaming PC is already laggy at a fully population server in everfall alone and wars. 5000 would probably hurt quite a bit of peoples PC’s

Keeping servers at 2000 players max means one of two:

  1. Nothing changes in terms of server population limit, and people looking to play an MMORPG (MMO =massively multiplayer online) should go look elsewhere, and seek games with less good graphics if they wanna play on servers with a strong, resilient community? —> solution is quit NW and go play ff14 or WoW, or whatever.
    Or
  2. accept the fact that New World’s design and in-game economics isn’t built to handle more than 2000 people per server? —> solution requires AGS to actively manage existing servers, since servers with less than 2k people face increased risk of “dying” when compared to servers with higher population (hence why I used the term “resilient” in my original post).

Analysis is good, but it should lead to solutions and alternatives. And if NW needs to stay with option 2. then AGS needs to become more pro-active in managing their servers by increasing the frequency of merges and character transfers.

Until then I look forward to reading more replies, in hopes of stumbling across a 3rd bullet point…

You folks at Amazon Games Studio need to stop working on new skins, and prioritize server balance issues instead. You’ll sell alot more skins once you have shown the community that you actually care about the game long term. So dear @Luxendra please tell your colleagues to get their priorities right and QUICKLY DEVISE A PLAN TO MERGE LYONESSE AND NYSA. The community is banking on your ability to handle servers like clockwork, since they have a max population of 2000 players each. You need to wake up and start aggressively managing and merging servers every week if needed. Your company brandishes the “amazon” name (what is amazon web services???) and yet you can’t stand out in terms of server management. Start merging more! And before you find the convenient excuse to ban/censor me for my language, please understand that I am unhappy and I am here solely to express my anger towards the developers by suggesting the following 3 points:

  1. Listen to the US forums suggestion to increase server population cap to 5000 players instead of 2000. It is so easy for a 2k population server to die. In fact, even 5000 is fragile. Don’t you look at how MMO servers which such population numbers are faring? Look at Classic WoW’s Firemaw server… WHY did it end up with 35k people?
  2. Work on implementing Cross-Server instanced PvP asap. This is 2022 and you dare call yourselves “Amazon Games Studio”. You understand what people expect from you and the Amazon brand image? Players are actually associating you to Amazon, and thus Amazon Web Services. I hope you know what AWS is known for. You want to borrow the Amazon brand name while offering the laggiest gameplay, with scuffed population capacities? This is a derivative of “bait-and-switch”.
  3. Add more content, and make it difficult. What you have done with mutations is great! Now please keep pushing in that direction, and add more similar content. You might be corporate shills, with questionable developers, but the core gameplay mechanics are well-conceived and it would be a shame to not develop the content in which players can enjoy those mechanics. We want our DPS to be tested; not just our gearscore and our ability to survive while performing tactical mechanics.

So those were my 3 cents, and I sincerely hope you are already aware of them. I just don’t know what is preventing you from getting it all done. You lack employees? Is it a human resources problem? Or is the game bugged to its core?

I critize people, not ideas, because people choose which ideas to embrace, including every single individual at AGS. Free will anyone?

re-wrote my original post without bad words, so now no more convenient excuses to censor my opinion. Isn’t this what public discussion forums are for? I thought criticism was welcome, but I guess if I use foul language to express myself it will get flagged. Does the language of my original post matter more than what I am trying to express?

We really need a much clearer communication about the future. Why? Because we are your loyal core. We are still present on your game, we are the ones who make it live. We’re the ones you need to listen to because we’re the ones who are going to bring back our mates. I run a guild of 30 members and I’ve lost half of them who are waiting for a better future of the game. I’m not the only one. Big guilds of 100 players are transferring and making the servers die. We are on Lyonesse, one of the first top French servers which is now dying. 250 players currently. Please communicate clearly! You are losing us… one by one.
