It’s not just 5 con players having an issue. Stop just repeating what others have said, ffs.
The M10’s are overall way more difficult, and that’s fine but without ags publicly addressing this and our general lack of confidence in ags (is this a bug? Is it intended? Who knows?) it’s just another poor experience.
If they announced this then I’d like to think the pve meta would shift accordingly and people wouldn’t run 5 con. If the 5 con players try they simply shouldn’t be allowed in lobbies, and you’re at fault for joining a lobby with a 5 con player etc.
However, if this change is intended then are the rewards satisfactory? As a game dev one of the worst things to do is to give players a taste of something they enjoy then take it away. It’s a sour moment for the player. That’s what we are experiencing with the current M10 difficulty and their rewards.
Harder content (which is fine), but the same reward? I’ve watched streamers/content creators all week fail at M10s with good groups not running 5 con. At what point do we say F it and it’s more time effective to run m8/m9 for shards
I don’t know about others but if one of my usual 5 man can’t make a run then I usually only accept heavy players, sometimes I will accept a medium if they are 200 con, that was before the update and after the update.
I’ve done M10 golds with the tank and dps all as light, medium and heavy and the healer as light, medium and heavy and I can say that getting gold as tank and dps as all heavy is by far more relaxing and fun. Even playing with a medium healer is better as they can take double the damage and there is nothing in the game that can one-shot them. Yes, you won’t be able to complete a dungeon in 15 minutes, it’ll take like 25 mins but there is never a chance anyone gets close to dying and you can sail through the dungeon in a more relaxed environment with a guaranteed gold at the end.
I would rather spend a little extra time doing the dungeon to guarantee the gold than have wasted everyone’s time because a light armor player kept dying.
I will never try to get on the leaderboards because that sucks the fun out of the dungeons, getting m10 golds for the rewards is the only important factor to myself and my group. It is our personal preference to play heavy and play with heavy players, everyone is entitled to play how they want to play, if you prefer light then, by all means, play light and with light players. My post are not an attempt to say heavy is better than any other armor type, I am simply saying that my group hasn’t seen any issues while playing heavy since the update.
Agree. I’m wondering if the mut generator is RNG and picks the things randomly. Either way it’s bad content. An ice ring you have to stay in that then puts silence and root on you so you can’t move or use abilities while mobs hit u like a truck. Borderline impossible to do well like that.
Well this is a step into some engaging combat mechanics. Honestly, anything PvE on NW was too damn easy. You could facetank any miniboss with ward gear and trenchant. From the “gaming” experience it was so unchallenging that even a macro could do it for you.
Still, as I don’t do M10s, couldn’t tell how hard they are now, maybe AGS went a little overboard with tuning up mobs and tuning down fortify, but everything else out-of-M10 was almost all-solo-content with trenchant and some wards.
Medium 65 CON is still pretty strong. It’s these speedrunner wannabes who bring Light 5 CON to a milk run that are the problem. (Not to mention the group leaders who reject everyone who isn’t running one of that grief builds.)
They test internal… the ptr is not testing. They rarely listen to the feedback. And usually they listen to the wrong people (undoing most of me nerf).
Ptr is mostly so players can discover exploits to use when it goes live.
First throng I did, after going thru the hour of boxes, was to run to castrum victualis and try to fight pve mobs en masse like I would on live… took me about 3 min to realize they f’d up. Reported it… nothing was said, and obviously nothing done.
It’s truly sad that they ignore peopl who want the game to succeed and understand it better than they do.
Very much agree. Since the season 1 changes M10’s seem significantly overtuned in terms of damage received which makes it hard enough to get a completion in random groups before everyone turns toxic and rage quits, not to speak about how unlikely it is to get gold.
I just started another toon to check it all out from the start again. They have made some improvements, but the tuning in the game is utter dog water, on a few things for new players. The rewards feel worse since I know you out level them quick, and they are all worthless, why be so stingy on leveling gear? Gear on faction vendors still a joke.
There are some things that will definitely turn new players off. I am guessing none of AGS bothered to play through since the sweeping changes.
Some of us told them the changes would heavily impact PVE, but it fell on deaf ears.
And thats how it should be since they added them. M10 should be very hard to do and only top pve players should be able to do it.
Most ppl were left clicking them in fact. With all fortification, weaken and dd in case of fail it was to easy. Now every group member have to know all attacks of every boss there or you will have hard times. No more 5con left click runs.
I really enjoy the new updates. M10’s, that should be the hardest pve content, was way to easy before. There is 10 levels of mutation for a reason. If level 10 is to hard, then do some lower ones and learn the mechanics and work on your gameplay. Stop think you’re entitled to get gold on m10 just by enter in to it.
I agree with you, however I don’t think this is fully the issue.
AGS just didn’t mention anything about this, they should have managed player expectation (comms, loots and experience), and because they haven’t, the ‘overturned’ mutations genuinely feels like an oversight on their side or a bug.
It all goes back to our trust within them and their integrity as a developer. Keep us informed and we’ll adjust accordingly, keep us in the dark and we’ll think it’s a bug/oversight/poor dev.
It may well be okay how difficult M10 currently is. The problem in my opinion is that AGS released M10 super easy at first and made it harder and harder with every major patch through various adjustments.
If it had always been this hard, that would be okay for many, but you can do a content and then after a patch no longer, then you work your way back, succeed again, next patch again harder.
