I feel I’ve had a pretty terrible experience leveling as a mage. (reached 60 about a week and a half ago). For the majority of the time leveling my fire ball would just go through mobs, my ice gauntlet aoe would stop if i weapon swapped, my ability damage has always been lower then my friends left click spam- just made the class feel weak- i tried getting perks on my gear but all the perks for my class were broken as i found out. My ability to generate cash during the economic down turn, lead to me just tossing out equipment because i couldn’t afford the repair costs. my 40’s and 50’s where huge grinds- with 60’s hogging all the good spots for xp (weapon farm xp farming spots) BUT once i hit 60 1.05 patch was nice. I started to pvp, and tried to gear up, get money, progress my professions, etc

I play a class thats unwanted on the battle field, Not wanted in expeditions (low dps and without dps UI people just kick the mage because we’re now known to be the weak link if there is a wipe) PVE wise- my damage is as low as it was in level 40 1.05 gear as it is now in level 580 gear.
I must have salvaged the same miss labeled recipes a dozen times over, my inventory is filled with furniture items i can’t get rid of because i chose to craft trophies to level furnishing and keep gettting afk kicked for trying to fish.…and they took my harvesting set away, and gathering while you have a brain injury like me with no compass indicators is just me running around in a circle.
I can literally do more damage, and be more effective swapping to GA/Hammer without changing my gear or stats. → and that to me is mind blowing.
Long and Short of it, is, the game feels pretty terrible to me. I’ll keep playing and see if I can figure something out. But there’s a long road ahead if you guys want to turn the sour taste in my mouth into something sweet.
And Yes I know L2P crowd, IG was apparently OP because your space bar was broken, and you guys refused to walk around, roll through, or dodge roll icy shower. x.x but in fairness- Ice spike can’t hit in any reasonable situation, icy wind/blast thing does 10% damage to a persons health bar if you can manage to stay alive for the entire duration of the channel, and The tower thing…has no damage aspect to it, and no survivability. So if IG was OP- you where dying to heavy and light attacks. x.x - and heavy and light attacks that do 30% the damage of your left click swing with a Great axe. o.0
