I’ve been playing FS/IG mage since release. I would like to share a few things that make mages life very diffucult especially in PVP.
1- After doing an auto attack, you get slowed for a good 1,5 - 2 sec by like 80%. All melee weapons don’t have this slow. I think it may be related to the auto attack animation. Basically, if a melee gets to you, you are screwed. You can’t get out of there.
2- To follow up on my last comment, ‘‘You can’t get out of there’’. Burn out animation is very long and too easily interupted. That is our way out, it takes a good 1,5 sec for the animation to go off, enough time to interrup our ability. If a GA player throw a Gravwell on me, I can’t event get out of there, i’m glued in the grav well.
3- To continue on that path, ice shower doesn’t work properly. The root is too short or doesn’t work. I see melee every day get through it like it’s not a problem. This is a way for us to stun or zone ennmies. they just get in it, jump or use and ability and boom they are on your ass again. If i can’t use my burnout in a grav well, why can’t they use their ability in my ice shower to get out of it?
So, auto attacks, burn out and ice shower are 3 things that needs a rework to make sure we can play mage in PVP. At the moment, it’s very frustrating with all the GS, GA with dash abilities and CC that works for them. We can’t do anything once they get to us. We need to be able to fight them with auto attack and our abilities. We can’t escape or CC them. Big problem here.
Thank you for reading and I hope considering this mage problem.
they should increase the hitbox of the autoattack from a needle to something bigger, you cant hit other players even if they stand right before you if you not land with every shot a skill shot.
The autoattack rate / speed is so slow. so either increase the attack speed alot or increase the normal damage per hit.
weapon switch is so slow, Pillar from aim to shot is slow and everything is slow, casting animations are slow.
I would really like to play a mage in NW as it is a good game but I’m just crafting and do a bit low lvl PVE, all other content is restricted for mages…
Yep. Was poiting out problem when last patch was on PTR. Old slow on mele hit, combined with new dodge nerf was easy to notice to any mage player. But devs chose to ignore it.
