How are players expected to complete main story quests when the quest is locked in completion of group content like expeditions. I am a late arrival to the game and am unable to find any groups for the Armine expedition to get the Azoth staff heart gem. I have been told I will have to do another expedition called “Dynasty” at some point. How do AGS expe1ct new players to find groups to complete the main story quests?

If you think that’s bad wait until you have to do the well guardian quest, requires 5+ people and only people with the quest can actually get in the cave to fight the boss meaning that despite the game being fairly new it is already impossible to find the people to do it. They really need to rethink the entire main quest “requiring group” mentality, it just isn’t working and causes a lot of frustration.
There is a larger thread on this and the AGS response was that they are looking into modifying the main quest to not require group play which is a positive change, but don’t think there is any eta on when those changes will be.

I am finding the game less enjoyable every day. No PVE end game content, required grouping for story completion, and the lack of a stable way to generate income to cover housing costs… the game was exciting until level 60. I am done with it.

with so many people leaving left and right on the servers, and zero incentive for others to help. this couldn’t be worse to drive new players off.
have a look how FF14 does it, and learn.

I don’t really care for expeditions, to be honest. And whenever I tried to get one done it was just a waste of time standing outside hoping for a group to form out of thin air (when most of the people are doing “end game”).
Main story quests shouldn’t be locked behind expeditions unless you implement a group finding system (which I don’t think is an option at the moment).
Just as feedback, I’m now past level 50 and I decided to simply neglect my MSQ (I still have level 25/40 expedition quests to complete).
