Yes just because of timezone differences might be problem but thinking about its weekday and in my timezone started 09:00 AM, its not that bad time, lets give them 2 hours of our time without playing for good of majority!

It’s a bad time to do maintenance. No other live service game does 2 hour downtimes during near peak player populations. Additionally, wait to bring the servers down during a NON DOUBLE XP EVENT.

I can see nothing anyone says will stop you from defending poor timing in terms of downtime. Critiquing what AGS is doing doesn’t mean one doesn’t like New World or wants the game to fail.
Quite the opposite really, defending any action with complete zeal is detrimental to the games health. I suggest if you see something that requires feedback, you provide it. As opposed to passive aggressive questioning on the forums aimed at those who do raise concerns.
@Kaydo I am sorry your playtime will be interrupted. Downtime will always be inconvenient to someone somewhere. It has to be done for server stability. Not doing maintenance would lead to lag, crashes, and other unpleasant issues.
Also it happens nearly every Tuesday which means I cannot play with my friend on the one day we are both available. Would like to see the day change and/or move to earlier in the morning
This game has been lagging from day one and still does horribly. How about all the terrian that’s been flashing in and out during wars for weeks? When does that get fixed? You are barely fixing the horrible bugs your dev introduced and hundreds still remain. Please stop talking down to us like we are so dumb we can’t read between the lines.
It’s like the BS we nerfed GC PVP so you didn’t have to decide the best use of your time. Just trying to cover up arenas, OPR and wars are dead and barely playable so you want to try to force us into them when we actually had content we were enjoying. Stop the marketing nonsense.

so its more a problem with the lumberyard engine that it takes 2 hours. where unreal and unity engines use data files to make alterations the code in lumberyard requires a full reinstallation of the game. this is why it takes so long to make a change. you might notice a slight dip in performance when they are updating. the program is installing in the back ground. the changes were made probably 48 hours prior and verified to be operational multiple times. through practical testing but there is only so much one person can test before the game is relaunched.
1 if its been lagging from day one. that sounds more a you problem. there is only so many people complaining about that. check the forums and check the percentile of how many other complaints there are than specifically “server lag.”
2 landscape clipping can come from 2 things. one surface is occupying the same space as another surface that its sharing the same angles or your graphics card is struggling to keep up with the demand. so post your hardware so others can see what your working with and maybe there can be a work around.
3 everyone was hit just as hard as you were for the gc nerf. your not angry about the nerf. your angry about the loot. maybe dont put so much priority on the loot and focus on what makes your gaming experience actually fun. are you enjoying the pvp faction missions?

you have to think like a developer to make sense of it all. they are on damage control right now.
They are doing maintenance during a period when lowest amount of players play according to both steamcharts and nwdb website.
Are you more important than other players? Should maintenance revolve around your specific schedule or?
Few Examples of Planned Maintenance Downtimes By Title:
GW2: None, they don’t have scheduled maintenance
BDO: 1-5AM PST
WoW: 7-8AM PST
ESO: 3AM-6AM PST
Lost Ark: Generally 7:30AM PST
It’s extremely rare that an MMORPG goes down at 11PM in the developers local time. I think AGS should consider moving planned maintenance to something closer to 4-6AM PST. It’s very inconsistent with other developers in terms of planned downtime.

this is the only game that lags like this, my computer is a brand new gaming computer. it doesn’t matter what I say I have people like you will be “oh you need blah blah blah”. I shouldn’t have to have a 5k water cooled computer to play their game. it’s well know they bounce our ping all over the place and have tons of Lag Detected and over all lag problems. If a ton of players are complaining it’s an AGS problem. You can’t make a game that can’t be played on a good computer that handles every other game fine.

i’m angry about the nerf that screwed me on a quest line that gets me loot i need to play the game but good job making more excuses and blaming the players. they release an update with a “new amazing quest line that will get you great pvp loot” then shortly after make it take twice as long to complete. this is AGS screwing the loyal players who have stuck with the game and have limited IRL time to spend gaming. this game is already a massive time sink and they just doubled the amount of time they expect me to spend on this quest line to keep up with other PVPrs.
Stop making excuses and get real please. Notice there are very few like you saying it’s fine and a huge number of people say it’s not fine. Yea, that’s a you and AGS problem.
I’m running the game smoothly on an Asus zenbook duo pro. 32 GB RAM with the Intel i9 and Nvidia rtx 2070.
Is your hardware as good or better than that?
AGS also had that Nvidia gforce rtx 3090 problem where the fps went to infinity and beyond on launch.
You are also probably one of the lucky people who isn’t getting their ping bounced all over the place. I don’t live in a server region so I get my ping shot back and forth across the country for no reason other than their awful server system. The main page will show me 3 yellow bars one hour then one red bar a couple hours later but my speed test always hits the 100mps speed I’m paying for. That’s a problem on AGS end and they are showing it to me when I log in lol.
