I have 32 gb RAM and this issue is still occuring for me. I don’t think that more RAM would help solve this situation. Potentially more dedicated vRAM could help?
I tried boosting it, still persist.
Hello folks!
@raphamoule you mentioned you updated your drivers, now, how about if we try to reset them?
It do understand your frustration despite from the fact other games seem to run smoothly, which New World unluckily is not running that way.
Here’s one quick work around: you can use the keyboard shortcut Win + Ctrl + Shift + B, this manually command does a tiny restart on to your graphics drivers.
If the previous fix did not work, I do recommend you to try this troubleshooting: DDU 1 (Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.4.6).
This allow you to remove all previous files and grants you improvements within different IPs game-plays
You must restart in safe mode and then run the program as Admin. After that restart and then reinstall the graphics driver. ”
I’ll be looking forward your response.
Best regards
Hello, thx for the reply.
Still persisting.
I did it with the uninstaller, tried, persist.
I tried a new installtion of the driver (uninstalling previous) with the compatibility driver (the one made for this game) And it persist.
I also tried with the brand new display driver (The lastest one)
And the issue is there again.
Idk what to do next.

Hello there, thank you very much for kindly updating me, I do appreciate it.
After deep diving throughout many resources I came across with some helpful pages that can help us to fix your current issue regarding FPS drop and stuff.
Please refer to this official site:
There should be some steps you already tried before, I highly recommend you to be my guest and perform additional troubleshooting listed on that page, they may be useful for you.
In any case whether you successfully get with the problem and it gets fix by on of those fixes or not, please let me know.
I’ll keep an eye on this post
Thx for your answer. It is still persisting.
Tried the troubleshoot you gave me. Lower the resolution with windowed mode. Still persist.
No apps in background. Ne updates / download.
It’s not a trouble with my computer performance. Still an issue even at low settings, updated drivers, allocation of more virtual ram.
Checks for Windows updates (No updates)
Reduce startup applications (0 running)
Ensure your video drivers are up to date (Done many times)
Verify integrity of game files (Completely reinstalled 2 times)
Scan for malware (Already done with 2 softwares + Norton and Nod32)
Reset your video driver software to the default settings (done, performed clean install too, tested 2 version of them)
Check for evidence of overheating (Come on, CPU = 50, GPU = 69-90 never get passed 90)
Sincerely, I give up. There is nothing to do. I’m really disappointed.
I’ts the game. IDK how it manage the display into settlements, there is a lot of players yes but it should not affect the performance like this. I tell you, WHEN I’M IN SETTLEMENTS only, the GPU is used at 70% instead of 100% into the open world) Actually I got 54 FPS, which is good, but when I look around, it drop at 20-30 and there is MASSIVE lag spikes with a duration of at leat 1-2sec
I give up.
So, yeah.
Merry Christmas to you all, I kinda understand that you could be overbusy with the game, troubles and bug and I want to let you know that I played even if it’s lagging as Fvck
!
In general the game is cool, the quests repetitives, but it’s an addicting game, so in that point of view, I congrats you. It is great to play with friends too.
BUT, Is it possible for you to open a trouble ticket for the situation mentionned in the last post? How does it work on your end?
70% utilisation when 54 FPS (GPU)
70% utilisation when 30 FPS (GPU)
70% utilisation when 20 FPS (GPU)
70% utilisation when 10 FPS (GPU)
AND TAKE NOTE : GPU Used at 100 on EVERY OTHER GAMES / APPS requiring render / display etc… ALSO : Physical RAM used at 90% so it’s not a saturation issue. CPU used at 90% sometime 100% too. I7 10th generation.
(Sry for the last msg, I was really disappointed.)
Take note, I even Disable windows defender with group policy (gpedit.msc)
I disabled the windows firewall completely.
I runned a ram cleaner to ensure there is no unusual shit running.
I tried on windows 10 AND windows 11.
I dropped the user memory RAM from 5.5 gb to 4.0 gb. Still stuttering
I completely reinstalled with another steam account (desesperate)
I uninstalled shits runnning in background as windows apps, xbox etc…
I runned in kind of Safe mode, still stuttering, big lag.
I did all the recommanded troubleshooting
I honestly could work for amazon game studio, with all the things I,ve done to make the game run fluently. Next steps is to install a quantom processor with 1024 GB ram and a RTX9090 with 12 Gb dedicated video memory.
No seriously I really think like you Njoyyy that it’s something in the game, optimization that need to be done. I sincerely hope this issue will be addressed soon because I think users massively uninstalled the game cause of this.
Cya
Please, if someone else have this kind of stutter / lag trouble, post it here. Thx! and Happy new year in advance.
ELSE :
I tried allocating a high priority to the task newworld.exe in the task manager but the access is denied whatever the user / administrator / system, I found this :
EAC prevents the process from being changed normally. You need to use RegEdit to tell Windows to always initialize that .exe with an increased priority in order to do it.
Open the Registry Editor by typing “regedit” (no quotes) into the Windows search bar;
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options
Right click on this folder and create a new key called "NewWorld.exe" (no quotes)
Right click on the new NewWorld.exe folder and. create a key called "PerfOptions" (no quotes)
Right click on the new PerfOptions folder and create a new DWORD (32 bit) called "CpuPriorityClass" (no quotes)
Double click on CpuPriorityClass in the value window change the value to 3
A value of 3 for that key forces the program to start with High priority, possibly eking out a small amount of extra performance.
Honestly I did some tests and found that this manoeuver enhance the game efficiency by at least 10% (maximum 15%) Still stuttering and low FPS with Low GPU Usage BUT it did something. It’s functionnal, rapidly setted up, and I think can be a workaround for some peoples.

My brother has been having problems since the 1.2 patch, sometimes locking up completely after a short time then requiring a reboot. Lately the game will come to a complete halt, freeze, then a minute or two later unfreeze, though this happens in frequently. His computer is midrange, though his graphics card is a bit old, it is within spec and updated and he had no problems until after the 1.2 and later patches.
EDIT: Of note is the warning he gets when the game crashes, that EAC is not installed/corrupted. It is installed and functioning. He uses no third party programs and even uses the windows security and windows defender bless his naïve soul. I suggested a complete uninstall but he is against that.
On my side I have occasional (rare) framerate drops to 40 (stuttering) but this lasts only a second or two and never in any battles, assuming I know my way around a computer, something has changed with the 1.2 and 1.2.1 to increase these issues.
It may be the Christmas themed content, or “something” was added. We will not know until the devs state it is poor optimization or some monitoring feature that was added (just spitballing). In any case, the problems began with 1.2 and have gotten worse. My computer should not be having any issues with this game.
LOG FILES And DXDiag sent via private message to amazon support. thx
UP,
Just to let you know that my gf’s new laptop run fluid with Rysen 5 with 1 Go Vram.
OH, MY, GOD, What have you done guys!!! IT’s FIXED. 80% improvement, I Want to know what was the problem! Woaw, you are efficient! 3 Machines tested, no more giga stutters!!!
Fix mine next amazon. Saltyz on Lerna server
I’m sorry, it’s happening again, a lot,

Hi there!
I have the exact same issue as you.
I have an i7, 16GB RAM and I bought a RTX2060 just two days ago.
I was playing with a GTX 1050 ti before and it gave me 10-20FPS in OPR, Elite Runs and any
other activity that involves other players. However, I thought that the RTX2060 will fix my problems but there is no improvement on my FPS. I reach a max. fps of 60 which was impossible with the 1050 ti but when it comes to group activities such as OPR or Elite Runs my fps are still dropping down to like 10-20. So it’s slightly worse than before. I have all the current drivers but the perfomance of NW is such a disgrace.
First I thought that my PSU (500) is not enough to supply the RTX2060. I bought a new PSU (600) and I still have low fps. I have updated my bios, did all possible ingame settings but the same problem still comes up… 20fps.
I have tested other games. I have played LoL on 150-200fps with very high graphic settings. I know you cannot compare LoL to NW but I wasn’t able to play LoL on very high GPU settings with such good FPS when I was using the GTX 1050 ti.
To sum it all up: The problem definetly comes from New World. It is frustrating. I have played almost 800 hours on the game even though I had bad fps but I think it is time to uninstall it…
the game is just very bad optimized and I will never understand why Amazon Games is bringing updates like “Gearscore upgrade to 625” etc. instead of fixing major perfomance updates.
Amazon Games has failed miserably and I think they should go back to selling things online instead of trying to publish unfinished and bad optimized games on the market.
Amen
I have had a similar issue several times. I have no idea what causes it. I don’t change any settings, nor do I install or run any new software. But sometimes after booting the game, I notice immediately in the menus that the video quality and framerate are significantly reduced. Upon loading into the game the same framerate and video quality issues persist. I’ve tried changing just about every in-game setting, I’ve tried reinstalling graphics card drivers, verifying files on Steam, rebooting game and PC, deleting New World cache files, disabling in-game overlays like Discord and Nvidia, and none of it works.
The only thing that has worked for me in the past is uninstalling and redownloading and installing the game on Steam. No clue why this solves the problem as opposed to a simple file verification or clearing of New World’s cache but whatever.
I’ve shrugged this issue off in the past, but it keeps reappearing at unpredictable times and tonight caused me to withdraw myself from a war because I knew I wouldn’t perform well with such low fps. Kind of annoying that this game is literally unplayable a lot of the time for a lot of players but these issues receive no mention or attention from the developers.
Nevermind. I just reinstalled and that didn’t fix it either this time. I think it’s finally time for me to step away from this game for a while. Hopefully February patches clean this stuff up.
