The only thing I really want in this game is the Warmaster Set at 590+ GS.
Currently, this box only drops from Wars, which I think we all know isn’t highly accessible to the larger population.
Please make a version of Rafflebones (you can call him “Warmaster Wanderer” or something) that can be only attacked while flagged, has a relatively large amount of HP and drops Warmaster Caches.
I think, when it comers to luck/farming things, that…
…rarely means an incentive to PvP. It more often means “incentive to flag with no desire at all to actually PvP”. You don’t need to look any further than flagged Myrk runs to see that.
That’s a pretty cool idea, with your idea of this wandering character, would you rather him be as random/surprising as Rafflebones or more of a longer spawn timer, but more slightly predictable spawn locations?
I think faster respawn, but random would be better. But give him enough hp for people to yell in faction chat “Warmaster up at x location” to cause some action.
infamy: characters that go out and pvps a bunch start gaining their own reputation, the higher it is for your self the better pvp rewards you get.
you gain it by winning things like opr, wars, kills, assists,
you lose a little more than winning by dying and losing (so you need to be winning a little more often than losing so you dont win trade at the higher tiers)
killing someone with a much higher infamy gains you more points and potentially drops you a war cache or a new type of cache that has warmaster stuff
people with high infamy/renown, gets a cool name plate,
starts at iron > steel > star metal > orichalcum > asmo. as is tradition in most pvp game for ranks.
tie this into a bunch of other fun pvp stuff and use it also for match making. (its better than nothing)
Honestly based on the new dev video, this would be a great way to initiate action for the pvp reward track stuff in the open world.
People rarely help with pvp faction pushes because, why would you if your company isn’t even going to get the declaration when megacompanies are the only ones in wars.
this would be a cool idea for a personal ranking system. everything you do PVP-wise gives you infamy, the higher your infamy the better your rewards. top 10 infamy get a prize with spots 1, 2 & 3 getting the best rewards.
Gold infamy box (first place) drops 1 random 600 BiS PVP weapon… 6k umbrals, 5 gypsum, and 25k gold.
silver infamy box (2nd place) drops a piece of 600 BiS jewelry (like a str health + divine + refr evasion neck for example) rare chance to drop as Con. 4k umbrals 3 gypsums and 10k gold
bronze infamy box (3rd) could contain 1 random piece of BiS gear for light/medium/heavy sets (like refr evasion, resilient, freedom) 2.5k umbrals, 2 gypsums, and 5k gold
Iron infamy box (4-10) would get 1 piece of 590 named PVP gear, weapon or jewelry 1k umbrals, and 1 gypsum.
like she said, doing anything PVP-related gives you infamy. killing a player in the open world gives x amount, winning opr gives x amount, wars x amount, etc losing opr also deducts points and so does dying to a player in PVP content. this system could double as a bounty as you could ‘steal’ x % of a player’s total infamy on kill. (duels wouldn’t count, must be PVP flagged fighting the opposite faction) the % based reward would encourage players to seek out others actively farming infamy rather than just killing gatherers in PVP for the luck. they’d still be worth something, but not as much as the #1 spot would be to the #2, etc.
edit: I just remembered from the recent video the discussion about the salt system. you could 100% incorporate that into this, replace infamy with salty, etc. sounds like you’re already building the groundwork for something like this but without a ranking system. players are definitely looking for a ranking system rn.
