It’s ridiculous how many low level materials are still required for higher level crafts, especially iron and wood. It’s not fun having to chop down 500 trees any time you want to do anything.
I’m going use logging as an example but it works the same for all gathering professions.
There are already ways to increase the yield, the first being moving up a tier of logging axe.
Not by increasing the raw number from a tree but by increasing your gathering speed.
Thus more speed = less time per tree = more yield.
Next we already have a perk that increases the base yield of each tree. It’s called "logging yield"It increases yield by 10%.
Luckily it is one of the perks we can force via.
Orichalcum Lumberjacks Charm, it can be found in various Chests, Crates, and Supply Containers throughout Aeternum.*1
Then we also have proficiency potions crafted via engineering. Which adds an additional x% to yield base, depending on strength used. 5% weak (lvl 5), 7% common(lvl 20), 10% strong(lvl 40) or 15% powerful(lvl 60).
In conclusion: No they don’t need to increase the yield per tree by logging axe tier. Just information that may not be known by some passed on freely and without ill will.
