I didnt say give money back… O said give in game store credit.
Game is dead… only chance is to bring a lot more people and than charge for an expansion
I hope youre a child because there is no way you dont understand this. 1) there arent 20k players, there are way more players that play at different times, 20k concurrent at the time you check does not mean there are only 20k players who play the game. 2) there are games with 100+ players who get regular updates, amazon have a game this big + the amount they made off of the 25+ million units sold is plenty enough to keep the game updated and polished. This isnt your 5th grade project for you to throw the towel in and give up, its a game made by a triple A company which has taken years to develop, they are not going shut down servers because an entitled 12 year old said their game is dead lol. At the end of the day neither you or me are developers, im sure they know better than us. Just play the game (or dont) either way, dont lash out when someone corrects you.
you realize that 25 million units sold is a total fabrication right?
it’s a forum myth. if they had if sold 25 million units the concurrent players would of been much higher then they ever were.
not to mention the fact that new world at no point had enough servers going to support that increased concurrent player count that would of come had they had sales like that.
Exactly. Also, sites like mmo-population saying New World has 300k daily. It doesn’t jive with nwdb.info’s regional info, unless people are playing really short sessions and contacting one another when they log off to log on…which is weird when individual servers are 25-50% at peak.
Must be trying to stealth those peaks of 25 million accounts.
It’s too early for that…
Making a game Free-to-play from being a pay-to-play is the absolute last resort of a game to survive… May it be by AGS themselves or by another publisher, but It will always be in the cards… The problem is, High-end free-to-play games with a huge number of players tend to include pay-to-win elements to keep up with servers and other expenses. We don’t want a hugely PvP dependent game like New World to be pay-to-win, right? Atleast not right now while a number of players still hasn’t given up on the game yet.
The point was the 25 million which was quoted is a made up number. Regardless, it doesn’t matter how much a piece of software sells it matters how much it is used. That is especially so for the MMORPG market.
New World has been dueling it out with Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Stardew Valley in the mid 30’s ranking. That is a platinum tier?
how wrong you are, I would prefer that they make the game paid, with a monthly fee, and use that money to hire more staff and fix the huge bugs in the game. if they do it for free, experience has told me that the game will only get worse. They have not yet managed to stabilize the game, they have not resolved errors, and you want it to become a free game which requires a pay to win system, which does not have to be maintained, since free games have a much more complex store system than this game has, which will result in reduced revenue from a game that is already mortally wounded, which will mean fewer resources to dedicate to the game. right now that no players enter is not the problem and I understand that those of you who do not have experience in the game do not see it, not even that the game loses 2k is the problem, the biggest problem of the game is “THE REASONS” why those players they decide to leave and that if it is fixed, it would not matter if the game stayed even with half of the players it has right now, a merger of servers is made to bring the players together and that’s it, but as long as the reasons are not fixed, what Whether the game is free or paid, it will continue to be a failure.
This is a terrible idea. The game is already cheap in todays’ market. And it does not require a sub. Which is nuts for an MMORPG. The cost of this game is nothing for gamers.
There’s nothing they need to do like that, to ‘save’ this game.
They need to work on weapon balancing, more weapons, bugs, lag/latency/server stability, possibly adding/revising PVP+PVE content, and find an effective way for servers to remain populated and competitive.
IMO, the answer there is to allow server transfers at any given time. Or at least weekly/monthly or something. At the end of the day the player base is likely going to know where they want to go, rather than NW developers simply choosing which servers to merge.
While I don’t want the game free, it could be worth running an offer, say play up to level 15 for free and then if you want to continue, you have to buy the game. It might bring some new players in, which this game badly needs.
I don’t think the game is ready for free to play. They need to expand open world pvp with open world events, meaningfully rewards, and probably a PvP only zone with unique mechanics. They also need to add a pvp mode for sub-60 players, a PvP arena with leadership boards, a few more dungeons, and at least 1 multi group raid. Then they can go free to play.
I think making the game free up until level X would be fine.
