Why not just remove elemental modifier reduction since its a dumb idea and just make only physical weps viable. Its only hurting mages
Buffing mages dmg might make pvp more broken and ppl will hate it. Honestly i feel rework all mages wep skills is the only thing could work for mages to make it viable in mutations /pve and pvp

Tbh mages are just in a weird spot. And AGS clearly has no idea what to do with mages

What are you talking about? Mages are incredibly strong and very viable in pvp right now.
I will state that they are a bit lacking in PVE content right now.
The issue with mages are they are highly skill and gear dependent whereas many melee weapons, bows and musket can perform well at a lower gear/skill level.
A single fireball in Arenas can chunk almost half of someone’s health it’s kinda crazy. I have every build 625 and I main Greatsword now and let me tell you a good mage is the worst matchup for me currently.
I think you need some mentorship from a good mags and learn how to better perform if you seriously think mage is lacking anywhere other than PVE.
Worth noting that part of that fireball chunking HP is bc a LOT of players do not gem against elemental at all bc their primary concern is slash/thrust until they meet a good Mage.
You can do the same thing spamming mortar. I think war is the metric and fire staff is out of the meta other than the odd one on kill squad and they’re usually FS/BB with the BB being the biggest burst.
It wouldn’t be a hard fix. Increase the damage ratio of magic resistance on player armor to a higher degree then scale up their damage across the board so damage stays relatively the same in pvp but a significant increase in dps in PvE.
