Make sure the game is on a SSD drive

I know those that already have NW on a SSD drive will want to reply smart answers, like:

“Duh! I have mine on a SSD drive since the beginning!”
“That’s just basic knowledge!”
“Whoever doesn’t is a …”
Etc…etc…etc…

I played 600+ hours with NW installed on my normal (SATA) drive. I had no performance issues whatsoever, except when logging into the game, entering expeditions, teleporting to house/shrine. And I got used to it. It wasn’t that bad.

I simply forgot that I had moved my normal Steam install folder to a bigger drive.

I transferred the install folder on my SSD drive and man, the difference. (Directly through Steam, right click on your game, etc…)

No more delay when logging in, loading an expedition, teleporting. It’s much smoother.

So, if you know someone who has these kinds of problems, make sure they have NW on a SSD drive

I mean if your computer still has a standard platter HDD in it, it’s definitely time to upgrade. Those have been out of style for at least 15 years.

SSDs are even OLD now. Still better than an HDD.

NVMe 2.0 is the new standard storage solution now. They’re a little bit bigger than a stick of chewing gum and are standard slots on new motherboards in today’s gaming PCs.

I have system and all software including games on ssd. Data I keep on hdd because 4+ terabytes of ssd is bit expensive.

If you spend hundreds and soon thousands of hours in this game, and NW is not on a SSD drive, it’s worth the investment to migrate.
