I agree, because very few people in OPRs really give a damn about the outcomes and as you say, given OPR’s layout, it really lends itself to lightweights rolling around and snipers…along with the GW Deathballs of course.
I think that AGS gathering boatloads of data once the arenas go live to look at balance across 3v3s may help though. I think that’s the absolute smallest unit they should even consider balancing for. That said, there will be so many cheese team compositions that the data may not wind up all that useful.
3v3 can, and should be, their new basis for balancing imo. It can be very good and healthy for this game. I just hope AGS have a plan for improving their balancing and that they have implemented it in a way where they actually get valuable data from arenas. MMR and ranked should make the potential data even better.
Consistent dps should have it’s place, but so should burst damage and cc combos. I think the main problem is that the TTK is too fast in pvp atm. It makes it very hard to balance. Rule number one I would say is that no true combo or burst damage should one shot.
Personally I would love to see a rework to healing weapons. Make them usefull in other ways than just healing and tune that down alot in pvp. Make taking and dealing damage mean something and then they could tune down damage (TTK) in pvp. That can be achieved in alot of different ways.
(I am assuming you reply to the topic, and not a post in it) Making it easier to deal damage accross the board would not solve the issue. It would just create a less enjoyable gameplay imo.
Only thing I’d say is healers and backline DPS if they were actually targetable wars would massively change to a decent split of assassin type builds, Backliners and tanks/bruisers. actively peeling would become a thing instead of aping on point and peeling occasionally. But nothing wrong with what you said.
Your server lacks proper meta/competition if thats how all your wars play out. I have made my whole build (light bruiser) to hunt their backliners and healers and have done a pretty good job doing so. The better the companies you face the harder it is and even more teamwork/teamplay is needed
Based on the mega company that reigned over my previous server going to orun and doing well on the, “PvP based,” server and then them taking Ohonoo over and the fact that several mega companies are in Maramma now, I don’t think there’s a lack of competition. Lol. Power houses on all sides that have dommed a server. Maybe their Backliners are bad leading to your success…?
Stamina regens so fast on live that they just have to watch and shift occasionally and negate 75% of a 5 man’s attacks. I’ve done it, they’ve done it to me. The only way you can have success in killing Backliners is running BB or they’re not very good.
I love running backline murder squad, it’s my preferred position but against actually worth a shit players? Hardly worth it. I’d say slot 1 or 2 5 man squads max of this type.
I’ve been very successful running it in garbage wars but it’s not as effective in higher up wars.
this.
99% of posters on this forum are playing the game at such a low level it’s laughable
AGS needs a way to filter posts from people with 50 war wins lol
I still think they need a 625 only server. Then all these server dommers can clump together and fuck eachother up, people on all other servers would tune in just to watch wars. It would be like our own eSports world. The dommers of the dommers.
Epherium dominated the main pvp server on Valhalla, the most dominant pvp server before the games population cratered, by using mostly light armor. This was all before the defensive changes.
The meta on differerent servers would make that possible. But being nearly full light vs a good company with heavy users and good point controll and you wont manage to tick up any points.
Ive been a light bruiser since the beta and always played light in wars and done fairly well, but Im useless for point controll and I know my role within the war
