Make the game more friendly, make everything easier to hit

With the right system I’d say. I do think 4 abilities, expanded trees with more diversity and an equippable utility type slot for 9 abilities total could do wonders for this game.

Well ranged classes should shoot normal hits as aoe to everybody on whole map, just to avoid aim issue.
Melee should be able to throw their weapons and hit up to 200m in front of them.

Would make the game very fluid for ppl like u.

New world is like my first mmo in like 8 years? All the ones I had played previously (Lotro, Warhammer, GW, Rift) had been tab target. While I liked PvP in some of those (warhammer, lotro), I always felt like it was missing something compared to FPS games like CS. I tried this game to spend time with some friends who moved away, and man combat is so much better. It’s the main reason I’m still playing.

I definitely prefer free form over tab target as well, I just wish there was depth.

Did you equip a musket thinking the hitscan will let you land most of your shots without requiring precision or what?

People think the weapon is easy but when they pick it up they can’t land more than 50% of their shots and ultimately just swap to mage/bruiser because those classes are much easier to play :rofl:

I’m Diamond on valorant as solo player, I also have 1.4k hours on pubg, 2k hours on rust, also hit challenger in LoL in 2016. I have my background in gaming and I do pretty well in pvp. But all my friends which are not hardcore players got really frustrated when playing OPR or any PVP, they dropped the game because if you don’t got the experience to shoot players in movement the game can literally be pretty frustrating and you are FORCED to play GA / WH, and that’s why GA and WH is so damn massively played. I do know by own experience if you are a good player and DO NOT WANT TO GET KILLED you can dodge almost any projectile and run forever, even if 2, 3, 5, 6 players are following you, you can make them run until they got bored, why? because if you don’t want to fight them directly they just can’t kill you.
I’m not telling that AGS must get rid of all the aiming difficulty, but making everything easier to hit, you will see ton more different builds being played, it will become literally a more fluid game, because it will not be THAT difficult for players that doesn’t have 10k hours in gaming.
If you are “good” as I can infer by the way you tell other players “suck” you must not be scared to make the game little easier for those who are not that good, you will still being “good” and maybe more, because the boost will be given to ALL players. But those players which are dead weight might become lot better and the game will get more fun and get more players, and maybe we will stop seeing those cheesy builds that depends on ice shower, gravity well or leaping strike to actually land some skills or hits in your enemy, because that’s the meta right now, CC and burst because consistent damage literally doesn’t exist on this mmorpg.

Also, if projectiles were faster it could be easier to hit regardless of hitbox.

If most people could hit with the bow, the difference between good and great is headshots on moving targets. Skill ceiling just got raised. Lol.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a universal cc breaker skill as a 4th skill. Maybe a lost ark style ultimate for each class. Adding a bunch of skills doesnt always add depth though. There are classes on WoW that have like 4 toolbars worth of skills but your actual rotation might only be 3 or 4 abilities. Sometimes too many skills are worse than a few meaningful ones. That may not be necessarily what you are talking about but I have heard complaints that we don’t have enough skills to spam. I think one of the draws of NW is its not a skill spam fest. Although it did turn into a cc spam fest haha.

I just feel like 3 abilities doesn’t allow freedom of said rotation. Normally the three abilities go in tandem for a certain combo and vary slightly by situation.

I think that a fourth ability could give the options of a couple rotations to play as the situation unfolds. I just feel as if 3 abilities is too linear.

I would just like to see more combos become available within rotations. Weapons are too linear for my liking. I like depth and diversity. Fine tuning for different levels of tankiness vs damage via more nodes and more abilities not for spammability but for combination freedom.

I feel that is something maybe way down the road and that this game needs far more balance work with what it has now before they started adding an extra ability on each weapon.

Something else that could give more depth is alternate ability points. Things you grind after level 60 similar to how Everquest 2 did it. Have a big tree with different branches that you can spec into as you get ability levels (same way you would get normal levels just after cap.). Don’t allow the full tree but have things you can spec to alter or make each ability slightly better/different.

People could spec for more AoE or more single target. Could spec for more mitigation or more movement. Maybe could add slows or short roots to some skills or cc’s/slows/roots expire faster. The possibilities are endless. It would give a reason to continue to grind, enhance abilities somewhat, allow tuning your class to your playstyle, etc.

That would definitely be the easier option. There’s been many suggestions like this. I personally like the weapon combo synergy tree to help balance certain combos.

My 2nd favorite would be from nourri. He said adding levels to abilities. Like ever 2.5 levels gain a subpoint and have levels of each ability for a total of 7 points.

Sub points at levels:

  1. 3.5
  2. 6
  3. 8.5
  4. 11
  5. 13.5
  6. 16
  7. 18.5
  8. Could add 8 at 20 if need be

Also have different paths for each ability. 1/1/1 for base tree then add in 7 points for modifiers, damage, etc.

5/2/2
5/3/1

For example, ice tomb used to heal.

What if you could choose two sides of it.
Ice tomb heals but shield isnt as strong.
Or
Ice tomb as it is now.
Or
Ice tomb is no longer a tomb and becomes armor slowing targets that attack you.

Just remove AoE skills.
