Just a note, this happens any time a quest mob becomes de-spawned by either getting stuck in an object or for any other reason. I had to restart a few quests just to get to the section where it spawns a boss, only for them to push me into a wall and then de-spawn/self-kill on reset.
It’s on the known issues list, Search for Living Crystal. It’s there.
The real problem is, he (almost) never dies, he just gets de-spawned. This causes the 5 Angry Earth that spawn him to not respawn because their trigger seems to be his death.
In another one of the many posts on this since launch, someone was saying he despawns when it becomes daytime (in game) for some reason.
I wouldn’t say anything because I got mine after a server restart so I’m not that concerned about it anymore but a fuckton of other people CAN’T wait for a maintenance day for the server to restart, so they can instantly log in and go find the boss.
“team is investigating” 4 freaking weeks now, are you even serious? You’re insulting people’s intelligence by repeating that over and over on SPAWN BUG. Add the Goddamn item to Baine’s loot drop list. It’s also a damn elite boss and located in Malevolence. Save everyone the trouble already.

Keeping thread active because this is still an issue. Thousands of players have this quest and are unable to complete it. THE ISSUE is that Malevolence DESPAWNS mid fight and thus his respawn becomes broken, since the ads that spawn him do not respawn, since the death flag is not set. Please fix this. I bet it’s literally 1 line of code with a typo.
Basically ads spawn boss, boss disappears, flag not reset, ads don’t respawn since flag not reset, boss can’t respawn. Stuck until server is reset. Days without a spawn. Holding quest for weeks and having to check if ads are there daily in hopes that previous groups killed without bug.
So this is still not fixed. That sucks. It seems like WH is the only 580 weapon quest that cannot be reliably completed. I believe this also affects a sub boss in the same area who is the only drop for WSmithing pants. As a result no 600 GS weapons can be crafted. I am unlucky as I am a WH main and my company’s WeaponSmith.
I don’t understand why they can’t just make the quest line give you a token that is redeemable once to spawn said boss and the boss drop what ever is needed for the quest and nothing more.
Yes please fix this or change the quest requirement so it can be completed…

This is getting ridicolous.
Team is investigating eh? Which team would that be specifically?
Stop giving lip service, game is in a critical state and you know there is nobody out there to dig AGS out from under it due to the engine.
Disingenuous claims make it look like you’re either lying or the developers do not care. Sometimes it is better to say nothing at all.

where is the fix for this, 2 major bosses just simply don’t respawn ever and people can’t complete item sets or quests, please please fix this
