-Get someone low, try and cast spell
-Nothing happens (low mana)
-Start spamming the mana potion
repeat ad naseum.
This is not fun, and is a major source of frustration. In pvp I’m already oversaturated with priorities (enemy location, cooldowns, teammates, stamina), why do casters have this barrier that melee (GA/WH) and physical ranged (bow/musket) don’t have?
In World of Warcraft they eventually realized this problem and made all non-healing casters have mana only as a novelty (except arcane mage that has extra mana = extra damage). Is it time for AGS to take another look at this as well?
I think after this patch goes through, non 200 Intelligence, 300 Focus Users should be able to better handle their mana. The 300 Focus threshold bonus still is not up to snuff imo, BUT the newly buffed Focused perk (50% mana regen) on Earrings is definitely going to be worth a shot. You can get 180% mana regen with the energizing hearty meal buff and the Enchanted Earring (Edit: or Fanciful Earring since you sound like a mage) if you happen to have one stashed away in your bank.
Here are the other tools and feature updates associated with mana that will come in July that my suit your fancy lol:
Removed 1s mana regeneration delay that triggers when mana is consumed.
Mana Recovery: decreased cooldown reduction from (60s) to (30s) and reduced the chance this perk will be generated in crafting or drops
Brilliant: increased max mana from 5…10% to 10…20% and reduced the chance this perk will be generated in crafting or drops
Mortal Siphoning: increased the mana gained and lowered cooldown from 3…4.9% (5s cooldown) to 3…11% (1s cooldown) and reduced the chance this perk will be generated in crafting or drops
Focused: reduced the mana regeneration rate from 5-9.8% to 15-29.4% and reduced the chance this perk will be generated in crafting or drops
Siphoning: deceased the cooldown from (10s cooldown) to (2s cooldown) and reduced the chance this perk will be generated in crafting or drops
Siphoning Blow: reduced the cooldown from (10s) to (2s) and reduced the chance this perk will be generated in crafting or drops
That has been my go to since March and I love it LOL. 200 Int and 250 Focus, spamming VG and LS skills non-stop. The stamina change makes you crutch Essence Rupture a lot more, but overall still a very fun experience. Only gets better with the July Patch.
