Mangled Heights

So what happned to mangled heights? - This is a question many can ask themselfs. I know that some areas are being buffed, getting higher level mobs and getting turned into “endgame areas” BUT

When i hit 60 i used to go to mangled Heights. It was a fun area, it was decently challenging, it was rewarding and the mob level would allow for HWM increase all the way up to 540-560.

Since last patch, they now added a wall with more HP than any boss in the game. A group of 5 players have to NONSTOP spam attacks for about 10 minutes to get through the damn thing, not to mention the halfbroken weapons that has to be repaird afterwards, costing about 50-100 gold (JUST TO BREAK A STUPID WALL)

Furthermore the Elks has been buffed to hell for no apparent reason, they are intolerable, their aggrorange is rediculesly high, and rewards are little to none.

But then… ofcourse… i told my teammates that this was a good area for a newly hit 60 level player to go to, to start the HWM grind without too much trouble, but then i realise that the drops have been nerfed to fuck hell too…

Lvl 62 mobs… dropping 510 gear, across the board… No HWM incrases… No point in going there… except for the daily 2 Corrupted runes which you need to craft the genesis key.

But honestly… The area as it was, was fine. There was no need to make a stupid ass wall. If this was an attempt to keep solo players from grinding boxes or orichalcum easy, then fair enough, but the HP of the wall itself is rediculesly high, NOT FUN, and BORING as fuck to hit for SO long.

I tried to break it solo and it took me 25 minutes and a full repair of my rapier.

Now with the decrease in drops from the mobs (for no reason) mangled heights kinda just became really useless to run for any other reason than those 2 freaking corrupted runes.

This needs a rebalance…

I went to MH for the first time the other day and didn’t know there was a door. I followed the guys up a tree root thing on the right corner and got in that way. Once inside I was wondering how you were supposed to get in so I expect the sneaky way in is to the right of the door. To get up the corrupted spike just jump whilst holding block the same way you do when climbing up rocks you’re not supposed to be able to climb.

Thanks for that tip. Although that might save some troublesome spamming of left mousebotton, it still dosnt change the fact that the area is kinda useless. I used to get HWM increases on stuff from 500 to 540+ due to mobs being 62+

Now you can legit sort by gearscore after a run, and you will notice EVERY SINGLE drop is 510. Every single one. Not ONE increase. Its like it got capped for no reason.

You can also just jump passed the wall on the right hand side. (I think was mentioned above).

I do hope they normalize Mangled as well to make it worth going to farm, aside from the 2 relics a day there isn’t much point

Also Scorpius has these walls and its so terrible. With a group of 5 well equpped lvl 60s you need almost 10min to destroy the wall while way too strong tentacles spawn over and over again. And this elite zone is for lvl 50s…
I went there because of the azure revenger, but it is definitely not worth it anymore.

Noone knows why these walls was installed, or why they have that much HP… Its a bit redicules… Its like they want us to stay out… forever

The High Priest plus all the adds… ugh.

I’m on a low pop server, so no one goes there that can help me.

Those doors have been acknowledged as being bugged with too much HP.

as mentioned above, you can glitch around the door by doing the “hold block and jump” but thats still not the main issue. The issue is you are killing mobs that are lvl 62+ and HWM should drop to atleast 540, but you only get 510… It was perfectly fine before last patch (the most recent one) but now for some reason all drops are capped at 510…

Didn’t the patch notes for the big Dec update say that the HP for the doors was a mistake and they were going tp lower it?

You might want to go check the PTR patch notes and some other dev blogs about this very topic. Quite a bunch of what you said is changing in the next patch (and already has changed on PTR).

wtf cares

i posted about this exact issue 1mos ago and was ignored by the you folks and the devs

your late to the party and its old wtf cares news

Given they’ve acknowledged the issue with the membranes health, the overtuning of certain mobs and have fixed almost every single thing the OP mentions in the PTR patch notes…

I’d suggest you were not ignored. Maybe they didn’t pop over to your house to discuss it over dinner. But they have responded to all of these issues.

They’ve messed up a lot since launch. But let’s not fabricate things to complain about now, hmm?

yep
but zero of you here gave a damn and replied either

I have posted about this issue several times. Just maybe didn’t see your thread to join in. You may have noticed this forum generates thousands of threads a week.

Next time you need me to reply to your thread, just @ me. Narcissism at its finest.

Never having been there it still sounds disappointing. If the doors simply have too much hp then how can nerfing the hp of the doors be that hard?

Lately the GC run has been introducing the HWM grind. Even in that run there is a door which is the definition of too much hp.

As for gear levels until now I thought that getting nothing but 501-510 gear was just because of bad rng or a GS that wasn’t high enough. (Which of course makes no sense.)

they are nerfing the elk and mages there so they will be manageable when the patch hits. The walls will also get adjusted, it’s already on the PTR.

This ofcourse doesnt change the fact that WM there is trash and the only incentive to run it is the 2 corrupted runes needed for key crafting…

incorrect

many of the 580 weapon quests need that last boss there to be killed

Until the patch comes in, you can speed up the membrane killing by equiping a melee weapon with elemental gem (the higher tier the better). At least at Scorpius, this adds about 3x more damage for me (another tip is hit the right-side of the membrane. This appears to be a critical hit every hit).

Doing this means a small group can cut through in about 2-3 minutes, not 15.
