March Update And My Thoughts

yup, kind of what i was saying earlier… No matter what they do, some ppl will still bitch and moan and never be happy. New world has come a longggggggg way, so many improvements! But when will the hate stop? probably never, some ppl just thrive on negativity. Let em have it i spose. dont get me wrong, i know damn well there are issues and i report them. Theres a good way to do things and a bad way to do things.

Nothing anyone anywhere that does anything will ever please everyone because we are human with different tastes and interests. The best thing to do, as I mentioned earlier, is to take the flak of a late patch. As long as the patch is good and not broken then things will be fine.

Its far better for some people to be all mad over a late patch than to have that patch be broken and dupes happening etc. Who cares if people complain things are late as long as its right? Is that not better than broken?

AGS needs to turn their game and communication around. That doesn’t happen with utter silence for a month and then posting hours before the patch saying “here’s the broken pos we spent a month on.” Granted this one was a little better because it gave a few days notice. It starts with good communication. It continues with well thought out patches. It further continues with patches that work. It finishes with doing all these things consistently. Until that happens the population will either stagnate or get worse.

since when was self promotion in the forums allowed…?

im pretty sure the lack of communication is due to the toxicity of “some” people. Take some recent posts in the forums for example. There is plenty of responses from the devs and things are going great… but once the topic becomes a breeding ground for toxicity, the devs, community managers have to step back because lots of ppl can’t help but be toxic. Again, theres a good way to do things and a bad way. Ive spoken to a couple different customer service reps, not devs, not managers, just customer service for new world and have been told exactly this… once a topic gets out of hand and ppl start getting toxic, discussions become heated, they either have to step away and in some cases close the issue. I dont blame them.

I agree with this 100%. I would add that scaling up the other dungeons to 60 and populating them with appropriate loot would have been way better than mutations and raised gear score.

i was waiting for that lol

I don’t disagree that there is toxicity. AGS needs to get thick skin and do things right. People will trust them and the toxicity would mostly stop if they did a better job.

I will give an example of poor communication that is current…

All the server merges, server locks, token stuff. Too silent on the matter. For too long they just stay silent and let people figure it out for themselves. So they transfer and flood servers because they just don’t know what to do or expect. This causes even more problems. I could say a lot more about this but I don’t want a wall of text. The bottom line is they cant leave people in limbo over serious stuff like this.

thats fair

i was just excited about the new content and wanted to show everyone the cool shit i found lol. Thats it! I think its cool anyway and i hope they continue fixing bugs and making the game better. I’m confident they will, and its perfectly fine to disagree. I’ll leave on this note, life is too short to be pissed off all the time, relax, have fun and if you dont like the game, find one that you do. Peace everyone!!!

All good. No reason to not be excited about new content.

It’s a self fulfilling prophecy begat by their actions. The onus is on them to break the cycle and fix it.

Besides that, the CM responses you allude to are rote platitudes with little substance. It’s also been proven on multiple occasions they don’t even read the content of the posts.

Agreed… reminds me of Fallout76… started out mediocre, but now is a much better and more refined game

:+1:

Literally tonight in war, every dodge after a CC was doing this. It was awful. Yes this is 100% destroyed combat. 2-3 seconds of not being able to hit an ability. I have to stand still to stop the character from having a seizure. Its a death sentence.

The March patch wont change at least 4 fundamental issues of NW:

  1. Crafting remains mainly useless
  2. Economy remains broken
  3. Servers remain dead, except a few merged ones
  4. Player numbers remain critical

No doubt, AGS tries hard. But maybe they will miss the u-turn.

hard disagree on 1 and 2, but there is some truth in 3 and 4 that hurts the game experience of many

Hm, you realized that crafting items with gs 600, right attributes and at least 2 of 3 fitting perks is a mess, right?
Did you realize people selling materials and incredients way more than high lvl crafted items?
Did you realize noone buys crafted items between lvl 20 and lvl 55+ and crafting only servs lvling skill?
Did you realize that 90% of high lvl crafted items are trash?

Did you realize that prices of many servers are ruled by currupted companies, duped stuff, bots selling materials and so forth?
Did you realize that greedy companies, which have got enormous amounts of gold through tax refunds caused hyperinflation.
Did you realize that players on low populated servers, which are the majority, have barely a chance to craft on T5 stations.
Did you realize that on these low populated servers players barely can buy or sell stuff, because economy broke down there (no buyers, no sellers, very few serious offers).

The list could be continued. The listed issues above are well known, often mentioned in many threads and posts and unfortunately facts in NW.

I realize most of what you have said in this post is true. However, I wouldn’t call crafting “useless” or the economy “broken”. I do a lot of trading and crafting, and crafting is by far the best way to get most of the best weapons, armor, and amulets. So it’s far from useless. I play on a 300-peak pop server, and I would say the economy is “hurting” from bots, wealth imbalance, etc, but not broken by any means. Prices are fairly stable on my server, so it seems the economy is okay.

I agreed that low server population hurts the experience.
