So this upcoming patch, the ptr, everything, is just crazy. Hear me out… I normally get on the ptr to find things and updates/changes that are NOT in the patch notes. Why? For my company, to make videos, create content and find creative and interesting ways to make money using this new information that most players dont know about. With that being said, i do NOT play on the ptr to have a good time and have fun. I think its a waste of time when i could actually be progressing in the live, real game playing my real character that wont be reset.
Now with that outta the way… i logged in to the ptr a few days ago and was blown away. I havent played live since… ive been stuck in the ptr on a mission. Ive been testing all the new changes with storage, trophies, inventory, hunting unique rare spawns, finding new weapons, uncovered some really strange new events that ive never seen before and im just… stuck in this ptr. I cant stop playing. I just went to login in while at work amd found that the ptr is under maintenance and was legit sad lol.
There is so much stuff in this ptr that has just… reignited that crazy thing that i felt when i went into my first expedition in new world. That feeling of exploration, immersion, its crazy. Dont even get me started on the new expedition. This update along with the last bug squasher update has put my mind at ease that this game isnt going anywhere. Keep doing what you are doing AGS. As a veteran mmo player, always looking for a new game to keep me interested and a game i can feel ok with sinking so much time in, you got me. And you will have me for a while. AGS is making great strides in fixing what they broke and improving what they have more. You’re not the only one I’ve heard/seen enjoying the PTR fulltime now. Glad its becoming a thing. People like you are the ones who will help PTR become better and better.
I made a list recently of all the MMOs I’ve played. The count was 26, going so far back as Everquest.
New World is #2 as far as hours played. I’d also put New World at #2 for amount of fun I’ve had.
This is no small feat.
Often I wonder if the most vocal critics on these forums have played many MMO’s at all. New World has much more content than MMOs this young have. The only MMOs that launch complete, polished and bug free are mmos that have been running for years overseas. New Worlds rough edges are just how young mmo’s are. Content, bugs, cohesion of game progression systems are all things that will be worked out over time, and something every young mmo runs into in their first couple years.
Are you guys huffing copium? How about the skill que system being absolutely botched and combat feeling worse than it ever has. You can’t be serious about this post right?
Im dead serious. The combat is so much better than it was with this feb patch. Nothing they do, no changes they make will ever make people like you happy. There is no winning with people like you. You can have the greatest game of all time but still find reasons to bitch and moan. No offense brotha.
Your wrong about me entirely. I was 100% a huge fan boy of this game up until the feb patch. I single handedly forced all of my friends to try this game also. I protected this game through all the hate I received for making my friends try this game. I kept telling them it’s fine it’s going to be fixed but I’ve reached a point where I’ve lost hope.

Feb patch has destroyed the combat, you can’t be serious. And its still bad on the PTR. You must be pressing your inputs at a snails pace and not weapon swapping.
I understand it being your #2 for fun (it’s a very fun game), but how can NW be your #2 on hours played yet you’ve been playing MMOs since EQ?
NW hasn’t even been out for that long (including Alpha and beta) so doesn’t that mean that you didn’t really play those other 25 games for long? Just my analysis, take care .
The combat feels far worse as someone who plays mainly SnS+Spear (I dabble with other builds on occasion). Several bugs were introduced on the weapons I play after the patch.
You might be having a good time with your build, but don’t just dismiss others because it doesn’t fall in line with your experience.

Mar update looks good, but fuck me if they haven’t still got a lion’s share of work cut out for them, and they still haven’t gotten to a point where they drop a patch and don’t brick a major game function (usually, the economy).
It does not matter. Live version is just broken on many different levels when it comes to combat. And there is no information if and whey they gona fix it. Even with that info, it seems they cant provide any game changes with out breaking more parts of game. Im sorry but its what like 6 months since release and each patch is breaking game more and more.
There is no point in any new game content if basic mechanic of games are broken.
