They will not put out a quality update. It will add more bugs and the MAJOR bugs they added last month (during the we are taking a whole month to fix bugs patch) will unlikely be fixed.
Right now…
Can’t OPR / War / Open World PVP because of dysnc lag etc…been a problem since release. Sure you can do it but it’s a miserable experience.
Weapon swap that was supposed to be fixed last month was instead broken so bad you can’t even swap weapons without getting stuck in a stutter loop
Can’t make camps, cuz they broke in the bug fix patch. The irony.
Can’t turn in many faction quests because they still show in progress so you have to cancel them and start over.
The bug list is pages long with many being so major and around for so long.
Literally game breaking bugs plaguing this game from day one and people still say be patient they are heading in the right direction. No they aren’t, they have yet to even release a patch that did what it said it would without introducing major game breaking bug they act perplexed about.
I defended AGS up to the bug fix patch where they just screwed everything up after promising to make the game function better. They are not good at this so I’m finally admitting it lol.

I’d prefer fixes before the patch, any day of the week, month, year.

WTF are you guys even defending here?
They announced a Patch less than 24 hours before tha actual patch and then found a apparently major bug 2 hours before the patch should start…
This clearly shows they werent ready and were just rushing things witch is bad.
Ppl here arent mad about a delay, its about the unprofessional behaviour that led to that delay.
As said in this topic we arent pushing them to release sooner, we just wanna know whats happening more than like 16 hours before. Postpone the patch by 2 weeks if you have to, i dont care. If its not ready it is not ready.
But pls start communicating and dont rush and push yourselfes when the community simply wants you to communicate more and get working patches.
They just werent ready and for some reason thought they had to release it soon and then found a bug last minute. Im 100% sure they expected Bugs with this patch, havent even finished testing it completely and found a bug thats worse than they expected.
These topics are not the reason they push these unfinished patches out, if you read the replies you see we never said they should hurry and patch asap.

Hi everyone, we know it is frustrating being excited for a release and then having it pulled back. We are just as excited as you for the Heart of Madness Release!
The team is constantly working to improve the experience of New World and have identified the issue that is blocking the release. We are working to get a fix built and tested quickly so that we can release Heart of Madness and finish Isabella’s storyline. When we have more information about the release, we will be sure to share it with you as soon as possible.

I’ve been critical of everything AGS has done with this game just about. But this delay IMO is a very good sign. It shows they are getting their act together. They caught a bug and delayed like they should. Good job.

Is there any chance this won’t be release tomorrow morning? Because honestly delaying it again will certainly kill all the hype for this patch.

There’s a chance it will be and there is a chance it won’t be. Do you really want them to release a broken patch? Maybe will kill your hype, but I know i’d rather wait and not have a non-broken patch.

I’m guessing you missed all the PTR update posts since the start of the month showing all the exact changes seen in these patch notes. I didn’t think there was anyone here who didn’t know what was coming in the update.

Please take your time. The people complaining about the delay now would have definitely raged harder if you released the patch today (with a serious bug) instead of delaying it.

Patch day / patch notes is referring to the patch announcement witch they should be able to release earlier than 16 hours before tha patch if they are slightly confident in having a working patch by that time.
Release it when its ready but that alone shows that they havent been ready imo

Im really worried that the issue that is being resolved is the UI skills/potions all being dropped … permanently because that is a pretty big issue, I came back on to PTR last night after having that happen a week ago to me and couldnt get my UI to turn on properly

I couldn’t disagree with you more… The decision to delay is certainly not one ANY software team takes lightly and the fact that they did this shows a stark improvement to past releases. This validates that they are testing, and they are testing with every waking moment - even up to the final release. And if they find something “hot” - they’re willing to delay their own improved results to make it right. There is nothing wrong with this approach and we should be showing appreciation and support.
People can’t cry about NW being buggy… and cry when AGS takes a little more time to polish things and get them right. If they fault both scenarios… they’ve departed the realm of logic and/or don’t understand software development.
