Wow. People get super angry when you use logic and try to show them they may have an incorrect viewpoint.
All my multiple screenshots, and posts, were proving to you is that if some random player (in this case me) can log in at any random time and go to any random place and have no issue finding nodes then maybe the issue isn’t with the nodes or bots or whatever…
Maybe the problem is just with a very low subset of people (like you) that are just plain either doing it wrong or not trying hard enough.
Sorry if you got your feelings hurt because you posted what you perceived is a possible issue and another player is proving you wrong.
Seriously though. Sometimes to farm you need to just wait for one spot to respawn and start youre route from there. The pain is real when youre following a route someone else is already on.
100% accurate here. On the rare occasions I’ve gone to my run spots and had “blank nodes”, i usually just fart around for a bit (killing mobs and/or time) until the node repops and start my run then. Most “run” areas have like 10 to 20 sets of 2 or 3 that can be rotated through and checked. Once you’re in control of those timers, the runs are pretty easy.
Actually if you thought about it for a second you’d realize that instanced nodes are a massive boon for botting, not the other way around.
My solution would be for Amazon to not try and appeal to the lowest common denominator all the time. The game started with PVP on all the time everywhere. Should have stayed like that. Just like how mounts shouldn’t be added to the game but Amazon folded on that too.
I guess their plan is to eventually push the game in a direction where these things make sense but to me it’s sad that they can’t make the game they thought would be cool and just have to make the game that will be the most successful.
I guess i should have mentioned this also but node respawn timers are actually fairly quick. There’s an area in shattered, as an example, where the start of my run generally starts respawning just as I’m ending my farm loop and the loop is not super large really. I’d say it’s probably about 16 total stops with 2-3 nodes per stop and a few “large” single nodes.
They don’t only have one shot, they’ve proven that already. The lack of a subscription makes it incredibly easy to check out what’s changed and decide if you like it or not.
Saying they aren’t doing anything meaningful about bots is also incredibly disingenuous if you’ve actually been playing throughout the whole year, because you would know that the bot population has fluctuated throughout. Right now it’s at the lowest point I’ve seen it since the first few weeks. I generally only run into bots in low level areas and they are rarely over lvl30.
It was a desynch issue causing them not to show but at some point it was fixed.
It would be nice if there were more nodes in a more dispersed area.
Leave what is there there nut add another 30 to 50% nodes for eveything but spread them out so they arent efficient to farm a specific material in one small area.
Im also fine with introducing farms that have areas that require pvp but these should be special areas not global.
There’ve been posts about how smaller servers are actually better and this is just another reason.
If you increase respawn that just means campers get more resources per unit time. It’s not a solution.
Another action AGS can take is is to reduce the required materials. Not just what’s needed to refine materials but the RNG involved to get a decent item.
Reduce RNG, then Bind the crafted items so they don’t flood the market.
I have defiitely noticed that my less convental spots in my runs are getting more attention than before. I wouldnt say it’s impossible to get stuff, but on some runs I get half of what Im used to simply by bad timing.
So far for me its kinda like - it aint great nor terrible, I miss the days when my server was around 900-1000 population, it felt much better for this map size.
Pop limits up to 2500 without acknowledging this issue. @Kay Can you comment on this issue?
Let’s say they are not clever bots with scripted inefficient behaviors so they don’t look like bots.
It’s still a helluva boring game to end up doing this. What other game has you camping nodes? How is this even fun? It’s like watching paint dry except you have to press a button every now and then.
What systems in this game have made people so desperate they need to do this? How long before they realize just what a waste of time this is and go play something actually fun?
I read through this and it seems that if they were random node spawn, as in could be absolutely anywhere , anytime , that would fix the bots , but how would that make your gathering time implode into a empty life sucking vortex, i do check they are bots , i do also pop a tent up where i am on their rroute, if they get stuck in it till they log out they are a bot imo , if they avoid it the next time they run past (and didnt get stuck in it ) they are usually players , bots got sneaky or companies knowingly have bots in them as some are now faction aligned and in a company , trying to still farm a freshly picked node is a giveaway also. just tent up and report those stuck for any length of time! Any real players will run round the tent and will not mind! the other idea is if a bot is proven, then flag for pvp perma , were happy to go farm them then
