leap ,in my opinion,is the best combo starter in the game
And that’s all it’s good for. Maybe be mad about the weapon they switch to immediately after to kill you in 3 keystrokes?

Many of us have tried to make this point. No one can see that the issue here is not so simple as “nerf s/s-BB!”
I think it’s funny how some players are complaining about the build with blunderbuss, for being an “assassin” build, and at the same time they are anxious for the arrival of the daggers…
Guys, the assassin role exists and is a fragile “class” with a very high burst potential and that will hunt more fragile “classes”, or do you think that the daggers will come with little damage?
I understand that it’s important to have counterplay, but the whole problem with blunderbuss is that you can cancel the auto attack animation with the skill animation and not two sword skills (which is already a weak weapon, used only by two skills and for start combo)

you have no idea what youre talking about if you say bb is not overtuned right now. if you think a 1 shot with a shotgun is okay you should go play rust
funny all the people defending bb… are actually the ones ruining this game. the devs listen to incompetent, unskilled, and players with absolutely no knowledge in game balancing. .very sad.

leaping is also the only escape tanks have, so nerfing it is the n-th nerf to tanks that are already suffering
Nah sns is fine, its good to be stunlocked till death, perfectly balanced like the GA or BB.

Sword and Shield is useless without Leaping Strike (with stagger) and Shield Bash. If anything the weapon needs to be buffed… but maybe a slight increase in animation time for the Leaping Strike could make it even easier to counter (max a 50 ms increase to begin with)… although it is already perfectly doable if you react fast enough, especially with a block… so I am not sure if it is even needed.
The real problem is the burst of some weapons that can oneshot you out of the engage… but that can still be done without a Sword and Shield… so nerfing Sword and Shield would not even solve the real issue here.
I think the best way to solve this is to make everyone more tanky in PvP so that we do not die as fast as we do currently in this bursty meta. Then CC chains would not even be a problem as you are not getting one shotted. The only thing is that healing would be too strong, which means they also need to balance that in a way where taking damage means something and can not be instanly healed up again.
Yeah I’m not convinced its SNS which is the problem, I think the stun is a bit long.
Most PvP builds are still a GA, WH, LS, IG, FS, BB
Others are an after thought, that AGS is really struggling with this doesn’t say much for their understanding of PvP design .
Sword and shield is fine as it is now, you need to rework BB.
Probably, they tend to overtune things up or down and then come back and try to correct the overtuning. So I’m hoping they might do small adjustments in relation to s/s.
I say the following knowing that I am completely ignorant of programming and game design. The following is in full recognition that I continue to play and enjoy much of the game. (Admittedly I have fired up my old GW2 and Runescape accounts.)
However, I’ve played enough games with enough complexity to raise concerns when every other game I’ve played has performed better.
There is a distinct possibility that many on the team really don’t know what they are doing. At least in relation to full blown mmo’s.
Before leaping attck looks like it hits I am already staggered. I cannot dodge it unless I preemptively dodge and shield bash is the longest stun. Basically setting up a kill with almost any secondary weapon. It’s annoying and cheap. There needs to be a leaping strike telegraph
The desync associated with the skill is atrocious for those on the receiving and delivering end. My only thought to make leap → bash not as easily of a guaranteed combo would be to slightly reduce the time/frames you are staggered for when hit much like they had done with Path of Destiny. Aside from that, SnS is in an okay spot now considering the fact the 150 Strength perk is getting reverted.
