Medium dodge on PTR + animation cancel

I’m a bow user. Also you can still jump, just .33 slower

Damage was never the problem, the problem was that medium set users had little less damage than light, more than twice of the defense and still were able to evade and run on fights using animation cancel almost as like light set users without any punishment at all. Using light sets didn’t made any sense on this game. Now it’s going to make.

If you do the jump your fire rate per minute is going to be slower than shooting without jumping. So that’s no reason to jump anymore.

alternative option would of been to just give light more dodge rolls.

considering dodging is the BEST defense.

on a side note.

i kinda wish the various variations of armor had more variation in weight. so we dont all only see heavy ori chest plates and helms.

i would of preferred to see many more variation on build types.

would of also been intresting to see diffrent armor pieces provide the light/med/heavy bonuses + more.

ori helm giving concussion resistance (diminishing CC)
the wizard hat giving bonus elemental damage
chest pieces being mostly for the majority of defense as ususal.
boots or pants being what gives you the extra dodges.
etc.

Oh, so you’re saying that Light does too little damage, compared to how much it takes, when comparing it to Medium, which does decent damage, but has MUCH better defenses.
But damage was never the problem?? Ok dude.

If you’re happy doing 600 crit on a Heavy user, I don’t know what else I should say

Some Medium users will just go Heavy and be unkillable, others will go Light & be uncatchable.
Fun times.

Well, outside of a few tanks nobody played heavy on this game, which is kinda telling how strong medium was with all the iFrames and mobility it had. I don’t like mobility nerfs at all but this was something medium set players deserved after they cried so much on the forum to nerf bow and rapier. Just see the average board on wars, more than 80% of the players were on medium.

You know what’s the best defense?
Offense.
Best thing they could’ve done to Light armor would’ve been to buff its damage bonus.

And then tweak individual weapons where needed.

But that would’ve taken too much work, hein?

When it comes to fluidity, there should be no nerfs. The game is already clunky & unresponsive in PvP.

i agree there.

though honestly they need to sit down and figure this crap out.

i dont have confidence they will be able to do it though which is the sad part.

I’m not well informed of the distribution of Armor types in general, but in the company that I was part of, the vast majority were wearing Heavy. It was better than anything else, because you don’t need high mobility in wars. You just need to hold points & absorb as much damage as possible, while also dealing a good amount of damage. And Heavy Armor users with 300/200 stats are definitely able to do that, especially when it comes to Healers & Bruisers.

And my company was the biggest on a fairly populated US East server, controlling 4 different territories for months. People started quitting like everywhere else, and the company eventually disbanded because of poor design & decision making from the Devs.

And for OPRs, Heavy still is and will remain the best option when it comes to being able to control points.
Heavy will still do decent damage to keep Light & Medium at bay, and basically be unkillable.

Nobody chases ranged at all right now because of Rapier. No amount of skill can overcome those crutch escapes. But the rest of this is right. Medium as-is with 200 CON is very durable.

That said, in wars, the point teams will always wear Heavy, simply because they need to maximize their eHP.

If heavy armor didn’t feel like utter trash to move around in and have a silly tiny little dodge, nobody would use medium and everyone would be in either light or heavy.
The reason for the large amount of medium users is not that its overpowered, its that heavy is too great of a disadvantage if you actually want to move around or kill anyone who isnt just standing on your foot trying to outdps you.

If you arent a tank, medium is the only viable “heavy” armor.

We’ve got some angry little bow players in here who think everyone else should be nerfed to the ground because they cant jump and iframe forever anymore.

Balancing the damage buffs and mitigation would be fine.
Making movement suck in a game thats primarily about winning with movement, is a terrible change.

And by movement I don’t mean spam dodge rolls, and jumps and then flail out your animation cancelled riposte when fleeing occasionally fails.

Medium armour gets better protection, do you want more mobility and damage as well.

Try playing light and you’ll see how much protection you get.

Funny thing is for some players I’ll hit them for 1k crit max and they hit me for 3-4k.

I play light and its pretty dire. Only reason I play it is the movement in medium and heavy feels horrible.

see ya !

The issue is he can’t cheese himself away by hopping in immunity mode while at the same time having more armor than light users

Well, actually they’re buffing the mobility on melee attacks.
So not only Medium Bruisers will still be able to hop in immunity mode, they’ll also be able to smash you at the same time

Check the latest changes on PTR #3

Yeah, people don’t understand that the issue with Armors was the damage/defense ratio between the Armor types.
Which has basically nothing to do with dodge recovery time.

And this unfortunately doesn’t get touched at all.

You get smashed all the time in Pluto.

To me this would make sense.

Speed is determined by armour. Its not.

Stamina/Mobility is determined by armour. Kinda.

Damage ability needs to be offset by survivability. Its not.

Having the tanky healer who can do ok damage is a problem.

A a glass wet noodle build who can do poor damage, I feel this is a problem. But apparently my left click is worth less than others

Medium was completely broken and needed a nerf. Hopefully this was intentional and they keep it.
