Meet us in the middle with the new Expertise system

The new system undermines all the hard work crafters have put into this game, so I’m proposing a small, but crucial, change.

Add a “Crafter’s Burden Seal” to the faction armory. This seal will allow you to imprint your crafted item with your player ID, and have your name appear in the item description as “Crafted by: [Insert Name]”.

Imprinting your crafted gear will allow you to use said gear at its maximum gear score, regardless of your Expertise level. Selling said gear will keep its imprint (let the world know who crafted it), but will not scale up to its full potential unless the user has increased his/her Expertise.

P.S. This will incentive people to do faction PvP/PvE missions.

im down just because i can have my crafted items say my name  and if they made it so only the OG crafter can get the actual gear score instead of scaling off expertise id be down too

I think the expertise system is great and should stay as it is. The game needs meaningful progression and not just Buy2Win.

Regarding the name tag on crafted items, I think it’s a bad idea. Traders/crafters could use more privacy to prevent being undercut on the trading post. There was this player who dm me just to tell me they undercut me on trading post so I lose coin, after I advertise in global chat that I’m selling certain items. After this experience I was glad that my character name doesn’t show up in the trading post and neither on the items i craft.

I don’t believe your asking for them to meet you in the middle here but instead all the way on your side. The new system is making is harder for everyone and you’re asking for a quicker route. Crafting is hard but with the new changes the ones that don’t craft will have to grind 2x as long as a crafter if your changes is also implemented.

This is a good idea. My own personal preference would to simply be convert the gear you have on right now to your HWM when they make these changes, that way crafters who made their own gear would not be massively nerfed.

But it’s really sad that somehow getting fair and equal treatment is considered “meet us in the middle” keeping the game fair and balanced and treating all players equally, that should be a baseline thing that we can reliably expect no matter what happens. The idea that we have to somehow negotiate with the developers to not be massively nerfed is really awful and leaves a really bitter taste.

They seriously dropped the ball with this.

I have spent most of my time in this game gathering, refining, and crafting so that I can get all of my trade skills to 200. It’s not an easy task and it’s not cheap either since we are forced to buy refining agents or spend even more hours gathering them.

I didn’t pay to win. I worked my Azoth to get to a level where I could provide for the game’s economy and myself.

Crafters are getting fucked big time because we didn’t bother with the then-useless watermark system. Now we have to start crafting from square one again to raise our watermark. That’s bullshit. Most of those who have a high watermark don’t have half their trading skills at a meaningful level, but they get to enjoy the upcoming benefits because they nolifed a system everybody was lead to believe useless.

All crafters are swimming in coin, yet they complain about not having the same power as those players who farmed elite landmarks and have less coin then them.
You worked for coin not for character power. If you want power, go farm the elite landmarks.
