[Megathread] New World 2.0 - A comprehensive list of changes & features

I think both of these things are important going forward even though they obviously have a different ranking on the priority list. The core gameplay should definitely always be the first thing that should be looked at and refined to ensure that the game is running smooth and that the systems work flawlessly.

But Character customization and other details also become important once the core gameplay is no longer plagued by issues to make the game overall more enjoyable and allow players to identify themselves with their character.

I understand, and thats why i have no hope and stopped following New World, Game should have been in alpha 2 years minimum…

I did not mean to offend, as I said earlier, and was offering my idea’s for a customizable player creation system as an added feature, like what you asked for in your OP?

Again, if you don’t want my suggested features in your thread, just say the word and I will happily delete my post.

Sickness has had me not finishing reading up the whole of this excellent thread until now, and I have to say I am appalled that this one deeply divisive issue is cluttering up this excellent thread, so I’m going to be taking my previous posts out, and hopefully folks will more this content to a new thread, and leave this thread to doing it’s good works.

I don’t want this thread to get any further derailed, as it is doing good work, so all the venting, let’s take it to this other thread, and leave this one to continue it’s good works, ok?

Returning to the Main topic suggestions. Love to see some day some world bosses PvPvE like kracken of archeage. Was funny as fuck… and rewarding… and people can lot the drop cause u take it and u carry a bag that can be looted. And also involve naval action in the sea. Is awesome xDD. New World with that kind of features can be the king of MMOs. And King on twich easy, cause is a game that is funny to play.
All my friends that are NOT playing the game , left 1 or 2 month due to dupes, lack of content and desync , are MMo players since ultima online more than 20 years playing MMos, a lot of them, like me. And they didnt play New World now. But ALL of them think that is a great game, the best combat, nice graphics, nice music. And always call about return when game feel completed… Because is a great game, but at the moment lack of features like i said at start… with that kind of things people will stay playing for sure. Dungeons are ok… arenas are ok… but there are so many games offering this… adding a dungeons each X time or some Battle ground map /mode each X time will never make people return… The fact is clear with isabella dungeon… People want of new world more SandBox Open map Features

Wow this is incredible. It puts my thread to shame haha!

Thought that I will link mine. I’ll definitely read through your whole post and likely get really excited haha. Thanks for putting in all of the time and effort!

Edit: WAS THIS ONLY STARTED 5 DAYS AGO?! Bravo. This is wonderful.

Count my vote in about transmog system, because i have given my suggestion about it too (in other post). But i just wanted to ask that what you mean by monetizing the transmog system, a fee that costs real money? if so, that way everyone probably couldn’t use it. Ingame coin fee would better imo so kind of dividing the playerbase (those who could use real money vs. those who can’t afford) wouldn’t be a risk.

I think world bosses are an excellent idea that could really help to create a more dynamic open world. I‘ll make sure to add this later!

I appreciate the kind words, I‘ll make sure to browse your thread later and see if I can steal some of your ideas

Excellent post @BRADLEY

You asked about ideas for re working the flag bonus. I personally agree with you that i like it, but because it is so controversial, heres a thought about howbto handle it.

I dont know if this has already been mentioned, but, what about this -

AGS keeps the flagging bonus as it currently is, but upon flagging, all other additional luck obtained from gear is disabled. This prevents double dipping, and makes the bonus usable in its intended way, for people who wear pvp gear. The pve player that doesnt flag can wear his luck gear but not get an additional bonus for flagging. The pvp player can wear pvp gear and get the bonus. Win win?

I meant real money, yes. The main reason for that suggestion is that their only income currently is from Microtransaction cosmetics sales in the store, which would inevitably decrease drastically if a transmog system would be implemented. If it was part of a premium subscription, it would allow them to have a steady income while people could make full use of a transmog system.

While gamers obviously want to have as much features as possible for free, it‘s just not sustainable considering New World is a Buy-to-Play game without a subscription and either Amazon monetizes the transmog system itself or needs to find other avenues to make money like a battlepass when they decide to introduce transmogs.

Definitely an interesting idea, that I haven‘t thought about before. Although it would even the playing field and I’d like PvE players to not feel pressured into (ab)using the luck bonus, why would I ever flag up at this point when I can have the exact same bonus without the hassle of fighting other players?

I think in itself it would be a welcome change if the PvP bonus would additionally offer a different bonus that is not attractive to pure PvE players. I don‘t know what that could be on the spot, but (in my personal opinion) simply evening the playing field cancels out the incentive to flag in the first place.

For a more in depth discussion about that topic, I recommend you post that suggestion in @WarMongerian ‘s thread and see what people think about it.

The problem is the definition that people have in their head of “PVP” and “PVE”.

One person hears PvP and thinks Rocky Road PvP, another thinks Strawberry PvP and AGS is thinking Vanilla PvP. So if you come to game looking for Rocky Road PvP, you will be disappointed. But that is on you because you should have done your product research and figured out what type of PvP was being offered and whether or not the flavor had changed and was something you would enjoy licking up. “But I was promised Rocky Road PvP!!” Maybe. But on launch day you got Vanilla. Caveat emptor.

Queue the stream of “HOW DARE YOU BLAME THE PLAYERS!!” Cry me a river why dont ya?

Same goes for the PvE crowd. “I dont want nuts in my PvE!!” Geez. Get a grip.

Now “everybody” thinks that PVP and PVE needs to be “fixed”. But, what really needs to happen is some introspection in why they think it needs to be “fixed”.

You may find out its your thinking that needs to be fixed due to your pre-conceived expectations. Or you need to stop playing because this game wasnt ever what you thought it was. Both PVPers and PVEers Im looking at you.

OR, you could learn to enjoy what you have and make suggestions for improvements based on how it is now and not how you “wanted” it to be.

Nobody has good data in this debate either. But nobody will even consider that they dont and then proceeds to speak for “everybody”. Yeah. Nah. You dont.

Personally, @BRADLEY , you lost me when you told folks to “get off my thread!” in effect. I think its AGS’ thread since they provide the service.

PS The word “you” means the reader until the last sentence.

I don‘t know when I said that, in effect. I simply encouraged people to create seperate threads in order to be able to have a more focused discussion as this thread was not created to purely discuss PvP / PvE interactions, but the game in it‘s entirety.

It is just insanely hard to keep a thread on track when people get so hung up on a single topic and I highly appreciate it when people respect the fact that there are better places on the forums to have an in depth discussion about a single topic to make room for other people‘s suggestions. If we want to get our points across to the development team I think we have to stop making every single thread that is created for a specific purpose about our personal painpoints (and thats not directed at you but to everybody on the forums including me).

I hear you loud and clear. Im always flagged. Before the luck changes, i was always flagged, and if they removed it tomorrow, i will remain flagged.

I dont have any luck gear, and i always have pvp gear on, so the current bonus is a nice reward so im not at a disadvantage when fighting others. The change i suggested was merely a though about how to possibly improve the situation, nothing more.

I posted the suggestion in the other thread as well. Once again, great post man, lotta great points made!

I would be honored! Haha

You cant “focus” on the entirety game without discussing PVP and PVE.

A focused discussion on the entirety of the game isnt possible due to the conflict of the meaning of focused and entirety.

PVP and PVE in this game is divisive and toxic more so than any other aspect. So of course its going to get discussed in the entirety of the game.

I think you have conflicting goals here that maybe you didnt think about before biting off this mouthfull.

The other Thread made by @WarMongerian has a lot of engagement, so I don’t see the issue here. If you’d like to discuss this topic more in depth, the platform is right there for you.

Bradley I have no problem agreeing to disagree with you. The problem I do have though is you seem to only want to hold discussion if that discussion supports your motive. To me your motive seems to be that you want some form of forced flagging on people. I consider the flagging bonus forced flagging. A good majority of New World players do in fact not engage in willful meaningful pvp. Many of those you consider “pvpers” are like me and only
begrudgingly do it for the rewards. Sometimes we need a few extra shards to get a thing upgraded or what-not and we go into an OPR match. Or we flag for the idiotic loot luck bonus with no desire or intention of engaging in pvp. You may not like these facts but they are still facts. The majority of us play mmo’s for the character building and goal setting/achieving not for a half witted pvp aspect. Perhaps you and others need that rush of beating another person down in an mmo. I don’t know. All I do know is myself and a majority of others have no desire to be a piece of yours or anyone elses content.

I am all for them giving you things that make your pvp more meaningful so long as it’s not buffs and bonuses for the pve aspect of the game that I in turn will not get for refusing to engage in pvp. If you want your name in lights on some leaderboard so be it. If you want special pvp perks for beating others down so be it. Just quit infringing on my pve game with pvp crap I have no interest in.
