If youre still on the forums and not currently playing why did you stop, what was the final straw and how many hours have you played?
If you still hanging in the fourms you must not have given up on new world you must be waiting for something that will bring you back if so what is that?
Give new world a rating 1-10 for launch and 1-10 in its current state.
Ags needs to start asking these questions to help turn the game around. I love new world and i really want it to succeed.
I quit shortly after the bugged puzzle in lazarus that stuck you unable to finish the instance.
Me and four friends paid an embarassing amount for the orb got locked in that room tried everything and then within days we all quit the game.
It really was the last straw. In general the lockouts and gates were annoying. Making solo chest runs harder and forcing the zerg. Unprofitable mob encounters.
The sheer cost and time of getting gear for a new spec.
The shitty pointless randomness of the crafting system.
The bots.
The lack of meaningful endgame content.
The complete death of the game from allowing cheating duping companies to keep their duped stuff and only banning their one duping account.
The initial lose of most of my friends in the game to the invulnerable bug that cost us windsward
Tuning orbs for vanilla expeditions existing as entry gate. And the fact that some lucky ones are able to have 2 characters on same server due to merging, and anyone not lucky enough is still stuck with only 1.
I know they have said tuning orbs will change. But no idea of when that change will occur. And there has been no official statements at all regarding the removal of the single character per server restriction. Only that if you are lucky enough to have 2 on the same server, then you can use them both as expected.
I started grinding my PvE Blunderbuss build the day Blunderbuss went live. It got nerfed recently due to PvP. On top of the nerf a fake fire bug was introduced. I stopped playing.
I do plan on jumping back in for the group finder update or great sword update
I mean honestly game started at a 10/10, fell down to 8/10 as I leveled, then settled at 6/10 when I hit the end game. Itās creeped up through 7/10 and 8/10 as they created more end game content. Itās still a fun game but they definitely need more end-game content and they must definitely need to do more with the open world which is what made the game a 10/10 on release. Plenty of ideas on these forums, including some of my own to improve that, just waiting to see what AGS plans to do with it all. No matter how they do it, even if itās a completely different way, we need incentives to explore the open world again. (I cheated though, I still play. I just use breaks when they isnāt much to do)
There are just so many terrible design decisions in this game that it presents a frustrating experience regardless of your preferred activity.
Crafting - Complete RNG is a terrible design choice if you want a rewarding system
Loot - So much crappy gear drops, and it is an absolute CHORE to go through and dispose of it. The main issue here is that there are no restrictions on RNG, so not only are most items not useful for me, they arenāt useful for ANYONE. Why even bother dropping crap gear constantly? Itās just a reminder of how terrible your game is. Making less gear drop, but with better optimization is a pretty freaking obvious solution to one of the worst problems with this game.
Time gates - Expertise, dungeon orbs, etc. If you want people to actually play your game, why are you designing it like a mobile game? Those games are designed to hook whales and siphon their money. An MMO needs LOTS OF PLAYERS to be successful.
Plus there are lots of other annoyances that just leave you dumbfounded at how incompetent the designers are. Voidbent armor is a good example. All of these sets should have Constitution so that any class can wear it. But no, and on top of that the Light set has Strength, so itās only useful for a very small group of players. AND it takes 2 Runic Thread, which are very rare because the drop rate is way too low. Will this ever be fixed? HAHA, no.
I left when mass reports were a very contentious issue and AGS has yet to deliver a suitable response, nor have they done anything about their CS outsource that caused the problem in the first place.
All other reasons have been icing on the cake, which is mostly watching them light their own feet on fire and then claim to have hot moves.
The problem is most of us have exhaustively detailed that shit at this point and we get āweāll pass it along to the team ;Dā from someone whose post history is basically exclusively āweāll pass it along to the team.ā You just see it as them not caring and you stop caring yourself, you know?
The reason why all my friends and guild mates have quit and donāt want to come back anytime soon if ever are these reasons, the RNG terrible gambling ( crafting) system. The endless bugs and exploits that happen far too often, almost weekly. The war and faction system. Every server Iāve been on always has a super company form and take over and run the server down. Weapon balance is horrible. The devs make insulting decisions just gutting entire classes or abilities completely making peoples entire build useless when they spent hundreds of hours and lots of gold in making the set and itās worthless now and I can understand why players leave after that. The devs lie to us in their dev videos ignoring serious issues that are plaguing the game. My friends would be more inclined to stay if the devs just addressed these big issues and said they are aware and trying to find a solution. New updates that just break the game and donāt even fix what they said it would fix, things constantly being stealth nerfed or stuff in the patch notes that doesnāt go over to the live game. THE BIGGEST ISSUE OF ALL IS. Lag and desync. Sure itās getting ābetterā but thatās not good enough for most people and they quit and donāt want to come back.
The forum was always full of feedback but if they donāt listen what should ppl do? for me they need more time, the state of the game right now is like a closed beta
just got bored thought i would check out the forums⦠havenāt played in months. Left the game due to taxes (i donāt need those in my games i got enough irl) and the fact that the pendulum was going nuts with big changes and ridiculously bad QC from agsā¦
Looks like nothing has changed, oh and my server(s) are still dominated by a single faction.
I see alot of people talking about the craptastic crafting system we have for reasons they left. People have been giving feedback on this in multiple threads for a while and yet they refuse to fix it. It defies all logic to me. It like trying to give a teenager advice but they know best even though you have 20 to 30 years on them. AGS: Crafting is great! Everyone else: crafting sucks!
I havenāt quit, but I play significantly less. I donāt agree with the people who complain about time gating. They have drastically reduced the time and effort into getting tuning orbs, and now everyone is swimming in tuning orbs and no one wants to do dungeons. Mutated Depths just came out and I am on one of the few high-ish pop servers left and no one is doing it. If they removed time gating entirely, all the sweats would chew up the content in 24 hours and complain about lack of end game content.
What I donāt like is the loot system. Crafting, loot rng, etc all of that is crap and I agree with that. I havenāt gotten a new piece of gear in forever. You get a good item, and so long as it is gear score 590+ well congratulations that is your new forever piece of gear and you will never get a new piece.
quitting after the Isabella dungeon because of the boring expertise system, didnt see a motivation to grind to 625, for what? or other stuff
Dungeons mutation are okay but again for what?
Chest runs are boring after a short amount of time, portal runs the same, crafting? farming? for what? see no sense in this, because what could i do with all the money? if u sell mats and stuff
normal farming mobs again for what? Legendary items are the most of the time crap
OPR nice and at the same time argh slashing the keyboard ^^, Arena? dont know were quitting before.
Invasion okay but after 50 invasion its baah, Wars yea it“s okay but not really fun for me but overall ok
Lag and Desync, crafting rng and the loot rng a little bit, crafting to 90%,
no fun at grinding,
combat is okay for pvp but feels very boring in pve(in BDO it looks cooler and makes more fun) but it overall its ok
no world bosses, bad events in my opinion , really really bad skins(the newest are nice )
no skin mutation system like Dia 3 to change skins for gold,
housing is okay but boring,
ships would be cool ^^, missions are boring, leveling was a immense torture, and didn“t harmonize with the crafting.
Bugs but the exploiter bots was really no fun,
No content endgame which allows u to stay focused and will bring a smile on the face by doing it,
Tuning orbs at the beginning was crap,
to many perks are useless and now we are getting more and more,
Armor system sometimes bad sometimes a little better but not really good,
every patch a other weapon is op,
what i do, is to look from time to time to the forum or updates and maybe comming back if NW getting a new system patch content which is worth to play, i hope the day will come but we knever know
While I liked some parts of the game I came to conclusion it was not fun. I believe there are so many fundamental design decisions that make game not fun that it can not be fixed.
I have played about 750-800 hours. I quit because instead of making small changes to my class they instead did several GIANT changes to it instead and I decided this game was a giant heap of crap that was never going to get better because the developers have ZERO clue on how to develop or manage an MMO.
played almost 1200 hours. Quit about a month ago with lack of things to do. No end game content. PVP wasnt worth the time. I dont like to mindlessly run m10ās like other people just for a chance for a ābisā drop. Im done with the game. This ācontentā they drop isnt actually content. People say that the tempest update was content but it wasnt. Players burned it out in a week and we were there wondering what else to do. Adding a new area will be exciting I suppose but that wont bring me back. By that time the player count will most likely be around 10-12k and at that point you might as well take old yeller behind the shed.
