@Kispilka I disagree with you. In my honest opinion, I believe the best overall fix. Is to change New World from a action combat game, to another tab target game. Where one don’t even have to aim. That’s what these terribad gamers want. The game to completely win their fights for them.

However removing standing while attacking and casting, change some moveset is a real thing.
If you keep the mobility of light then having the lunge tracking stick in a way should be brought back. Maybe not to the extreme where you LMB and track someone forever, but at least a decent bit. With the stamina Nerf changes I shouldn’t have to dodge and orb walk every single attack just to land on someone not even dodging. If we truly want a dodge mechanic to represent skill then don’t let shitty hit detection be a thing.
@IDarkStar I heard ArcheAge has what you want. Ooh, also Bless Unleashed has what you are looking for. Plus those games have forced open world PvP. So all you “I don’t want to work for my skill shots” users could just move to games like that.
If someone is closer than a light dodge away melee tracking needs to hit them.
They should have to use a dodge or an ability to escape. Not just press W

I’ve clipped passed someone more times than I can count. The wolves in OPR are awful too. Lol. It’s annoying as fuck.
With the amount of self regen iframes and escape ability on weapons the meta has devolve me into low skill CC to win.
Of course taking away player action (CC) makes it easier to land a kill. But it lowers the skill floor.
Did you miss your CC? Best strategy in this meta is just run away and regen health until they come off Cooldown then re-engage.
Even outside of CC only ranged get any kind of kill pressure from auto attacks. As a melee there are limited situations where engaging without having an ability nets positive results.
The best way to experience this is to play offensive rapier. Actually use it to chase a healer. Rapier has no combat tracking on live and literally anyone can walk away from you.
On PTR rapier is better but even with the added tracking still missed targets simply walking away.
This is a big problem with how combat currently functions. Makes everything feel cheesy spam eating meals and potions and just fighting peoples cooldowns.

yeah, the problem before was that it was tracking through the dodge making it impossible to escape. i don’t want it to go back to that but this starting to git a bit ridiculous
Agreed. I remember GA LMB spammers were actual LMB spammers due to the leap and tracking. All you had to do was keep spamming it and you would infinitely track them. They made changes to fix this, but it went a bit too far on the nerf to tracking imo.
With the obvious desync isues I believe they could make the attacks be used while moving, but at the cost of stamina. For example, if the player attacked by pressing a directional key he would have a movement attack costing stamina but without losing move speed.
people would do it too often to make have a punishment. I don’t let go of the movement keys while i fight and i don’t think other people do as well.
There was a jump mechanic before they simplified the combat and it could be implemented again.
Basically it would be an attack combined with jumping. holding the jump bar and clicking the lmb/rmb button.
For me this is a major game design fail, doesn’t make any fucking sense.
They could nerf the weapon skills/base damage to the ground but they made this stupid decision.
Now all our characters are dumb as fuck and can’t land two axe swings in a row, but can throw a fucking magnetic circle that hooks everyone to death with the same axe. Thank you AGS, you guys really fucking know what you’re doing, congrats yay
I can’t count the number of times where player positions on my screen were incorrect and only corrected after a cc landed causing both the other player and I to teleport wasting precious stun/knockdown time.
Same for ranged.
I play bow and arrows will never hit a melee if they’re in shock wave, feral rush Animation for example.
Shooting people on the run is a lottery.
Also been shot by a musket in the dodge animation several times before.
Guessing it’s a combination of desync and latency.
insatiable g well was literally just broken, and before that was broken again by not procing consistantly basically making u roll a dice every time u g welled someone. on top of blood lust being bugged, chase being bugged so u can infinitely use it, maelstrom not eating certain projectiles, and a plethora of other things. Hammer seems to be the only thing that hasnt been buggy from my knowledge other than being able to spam wrecking ball over and over if staggered/stunned while in the wrecking ball animation.
