Merging Auction Houses is a very lazy and unimaginative fix

also there is no reason for people to spread out.

in real world one major reason to spread out is jobs. jobs attract population, and population build a community, which build up trades and local economy. also limited number of jobs will restrict number of population growth and people who need to seek jobs when local have no jobs will move to another town. that’s how spreading work

in game, we don’t have local jobs. there is no reason for us to stay in one place. also teleport make it easy to move to another place so players can just pick one place as their home and they can go anywhere.

so “local” economy isn’t really going to work unless they do massive overhaul

Okay…

Thanks to those people that really spent time giving constructive feedback…I really do appreciate it.

You have changed my mind.

The merging of auction houses is really the only way to spread people out. I was obviously just looking at it wrong.

Thanks everyone

Being lazy isn’t the same as not wanting to spend you whole play session walking from an outlaying region to a trading hub. Global trade hubs let people better manage playtime with doing what they want in regions they want rather then walking from point a to b or grinding azoth to be able to afford to travel .

I think this is a somewhat good change, but it would be made better if that trade hubs were grouped by faction.

For example, If Everfall + Reek + First Light belonged to syndicate then the trade hubs would be linked, otherwise not.

I think this would give a new incentive for wars.

Towns are dead

I like that idea.

It would work like the current bank system and so already has precedence in the game.

Interesting in theory but I would hate to see what kind of exploits this would spawn.

Yeah I already said I was wrong

I still believe that unifying is nonsense and I think one of the most viable solutions would be the one I posted:

They can leave the auction the way it is. as long as the trading post allows trading amongst all the settlements. With an interlinked trading post system I have no issues with what they do to the auction halls. Can’t ever find them anyways

“their solution is lazy but i have no clue how to fix it!”

All I needed to see. Not interested in the armchair quarterback who likes to shoot down ideas but doesn’t have any of his own.

kid-pointing

This local trading post system would be good if resources weren’t spread across the map as much as they are now and they increased the fast travel cost when lugging more than your bodyweight. Right now I have no incentive to just buy a house in Windsward, farm my mats somewhere else and cheaply teleport back to WW to sell.

Why do you confuse trading with selling on AH?

And how would the linked AH change anything to you ase a trader in this case?
This makes no sense man.

If you are trading with people with lower price than the market anywhere. With the linked market system, people will still travel to you to trade for the lower price.
How does this system affect you?

Local economy dosent excist. The thought of tranfering goods across the boarder is a nice thought but in reallity ppl just ends up living in the 2 big cities. Its a wise move. I dont see how else they can fix this problem

If players stay in the same cities, market linking will still not work, I still believe my idea is still the best solution so far, I can give examples…

Yeah it doesn’t matter at all, it’s going to hit a few small players that think they are business men making a few 100 gold a day selling some random stuff in random zones to people who have run out of azoth

The rest of us just have a house in everfall or windsward and just TP there for next to nothing and use one or the other

By addressing the problem directly.

The problem is not market activity.
The problem is an imbalance in income for settlements.

The actual problem can be addressed without touching the market. Trying to spread player activity and taxation is just the solution AGS has chosen to try and a fair number of players are against that change.

Hey OP,

Go post in the Public Test realm, posting here will only get you denominator replies from people interested in playing WoW with New World graphics. It’s literally not worth the amount of times you’ll pinch the bridge of your nose and it’s basically the Pigeon vs the Crow meme.
