Hey that is more people than play the game these days.
I doubt Amazon will notice the correlation.
What are you even talking about? The only âdataâ being pulled was stuff we already have access to. Glancing at a minimap and double-tapping M give me identical results. In what world is that some kind of advantage to you?
The only thing the minimap gave that the game DOESNâT immediately give is node locations in respect to the map, and thatâs something I have on my second monitor. THAT is the ââadvantageââ, not knowing where your character is in relation to it lmao
No Data is being pulled from the game. You could also draw by hand a map and use it. Thats pulling data too?
well said
Youâre missing the point. Itâs not that itâs hard or difficult to remember where nodes are. Itâs that the game obtusely hides information from the player for literally no reason other than to be obnoxious.
Would you say the same thing if instead of telling you how much gold you have/receive, it just showed you a vague, non-descript bag filled with a rough amount instead of an actual number? âWell just your your memory lol. Just get a pen and paper out, and write it down!â WHY. Why should I waste my time with that? Why doesnât the game just respect my time instead?
Even if you donât have a second monitor the emersion is broken with the constant alt-tabbing to resource maps. THAT is way more disruptive to my experience than being able to glance up at a mini-map that has resources listed where Iâve gathered them already. Removing this basically FORCES me outside of the game.
I swear the devs DO NOT play this game lol, they make up these impractical and unimpactful changes to things that make things relatively better.
Whatâs even funnier, is that things like mote nodes actually show up on the game map (sometimes). Itâs like they canât make up their minds as to what they want us to be able to do and not do. Or perhaps itâs that someone did it better?
You literally have a âcheatâ with the compass highlighting a close node. You can also use your browser if you are feeling lazy: New World Map | Resource Locations, Named Mobs, Dungeons and Lore Pages | NewWorld-Map.com
no, they are not the same results, one is shown all the time the other has to be brought up.
having a mini-map shown all the time on your screen is a major advantage over having to press a button and then look and then remembering and then goâŚ
knowing where your location is on a mini map, versus using a map on a second screen is also an advantage over other playersâŚ
you are now 2 and 0 would you like to keep going??? cause i can do this all day.
So, let me get this straight.
You believe that a free tool, available publicly is somehow unfair because it⌠allows you to get a feel of your position relative to resources, right?
Thatâs pretty much what the compass was designed for, to allow you to get a feel of your position, relative to resources.
The only difference is that the minimap actually works.
Itâs not costly, it doesnât hinder your performance, thereâs literally no reason why you wouldnât be able to install it(other than being a casual who doesnât care about efficiency in games, and somehow hating on those that do), so the âunfairnessâ argument does not make any sense, at all.
If thatâs the level of reasoning youâre capable of, I donât know what to say to you as a person
Stubbornness does not equate to unfairness.
Itâs not an unfair advantage if itâs already presented to you in a different, albeit convoluted way(map/compass)
And again, the minimap wouldnât have gathered much popularity if the compass actually worked. If my mining gives me the perk to track orichalcum, you can be sure I want to see it⌠but with this compas, it just randomly pops up when youâre right in front of it, after youâve seen it already. Thatâs not how tracking works in games, either via minimap or this bs compass that hardly anyone likes.
well thatâs because you arenât meant to be alt tabbing or using a map on a second screen⌠did you ever think of thatâŚ
Thatâs a map bug with the mote notes, im pretty sure resources are meant to be shown once to visit them and are so close to them but they only work like 5% of the timeâŚ
lots of people want the easy and fast way it seems, it really takes away from the game honestly⌠wasnt always like this before the internet of things⌠pre 2000s
100% Agree, its been the same with multiple games over the years. I understand immersion for some players is quite key but for someone who is cruising up to 320Hrs in game, it gets a little tedious not having any sort of minimap and a bugged compass to boot
I ALREADY use the resource map on my second monitor. Most people do. The question Iâm asking you is: Why do people have to consistently go out of game to get information while theyâre playing? Why is it not readily apparent in game? What value does AGS hiding it give the player?
âi wasnât meantâ? What does that even mean to you? You saying I should not use my brain to make my life and gameplay more fun? Thereâs a balance here and they are missing it completely. Iâm OK with the notion that I canât see them till I find them, but once I do whatâs the big deal?
and realistically this rule does not stop someone from simply alt-tabbing to âfindâ the things they donât have and then updating their in-game map. In other words, itâs a silly pointless hurdle and does more to damage âimmersionâ than protect it.
I can honestly tell you I would much rather have AGS address other issues than convenience. I understand this troubles you but honestly, this goes to the bottom of the list.
its actually not the same at all, its cheating, and amazon declared it as such
exactly. Also, for those who want to play dressed as a corruption pirate and get fully immersed then simply donât use it.
The thing is, AGS is not trying to hide information from you. Itâs just that the tools you are supposed to use in game to find that information are broken. Close resources only occasionally appear on the in game map near you and the compass to help guide you is also broken. If the tools AGS wanted you to use worked then there would be an abundance of information in game for you to use.
Since they donât work, use a minimap and get the functionality back that AGS canât figure out how to make work reliably.
You just keep saying âItâs and advantage!â, HOW is it an advantage? Use your words, big guy. Me double-tapping M versus looking at my minimap take the same amount of time and attention away from me. About a .25 second of me not looking at my character. The only difference is one removes the tedium of not needing to press M 200 times an hour for no reason.
So whatâs the advantage? I donât wear my keyboard out as fast?
Thatâs a really harsh take on some tools like Discord.
Why would you want people to be forced to use the VOIP that is in the game instead of a tools with more functionalities is beyond me.
