They said “we might see a tagged GM running around,” but they did not say anything about permanently banning bots.
The GMs might actually put up tags and run all around, but since they don’t permanently ban bots what difference will it make? It’s just them putting on a show. You will never hear them say, “We are going to permanently ban botting accounts, and we are going to crack down hard.” Why? because they have no intention of doing so. For some reason, AGS is pro-bot.
It’s just more empty words. February was supposed to be the month to clear out the bots, remember? Now, the month is almost over and we get this: “you might see a tagged GM running around.” Past performance is the best predictor of future performance. Based on this, I expect nothing meaningful to happen.
Several more uploaded AGS still has not done anything and now they dont accept calls as of last Friday… Only way to report now is ingame and on the webtickets or here… They need to get their act together asap…
We got one on our server that farms that orichalcum 24/7 in the bottom of the boat by Boarsholm. He is smart though. He uses an auto clicker, but he must be somewhat nearby with volume turned on because anytime you bring mobs down to kill him he suddenly comes to life about half way through and kills the mobs and then goes right back to autoclicking. Hi Zywee!!! If you ever read the forums on all of your autoclicking farming! Dude has been reported probably hundreds of times by me and other players.
I’m all about people farming a spot and respecting a person farming a spot. The problem is when a person is doing it while AFK and autoclicking because that person will never leave. I farm that orichalcum spot, but I can only tolerate farming it for an hour or two because I am actually there doing it instead of being AFK watching a movie. Almost any person that has been there farming besides Zywee, will tell you that they are going to be there for X amount of time. The other day I went down at 8 am and Zywee was autoclick farming. I went back at 12:30, still there, I went back at 3:30, still there, went back at 6:00 pm and guess what? Yep, still there…
I actually said this to my buddy the other day. They should handle it like the bags and each node is instanced for each person. The problem is that A) I don’t have any idea how hard that would be to code and B) It would destroy the player economy as all resources would flood the market.
Be willing to bet based on what ive seen that the bot has a combat ai. Ive seen plenty of bots that animate mining animations once or twice at nodes that arent there followed them around and watched them fight npcs in their path.
Very surgical movement from node to node, none visibly present but still gettingvthat half swing in then moving to the next eventually leaving the cluster on a large path.
Its crazy how advanced the bot ai is in this game for being server authoritative and having anti cheat engine.
I wish their just personalize every resource node in the game, doesn’t matter if the respawn time for even hemp nodes would be 5 hours, sure all MMO’s have bots but in New World their just such a pain.
Collecting resource’s on bot routes is a waste of time or severally reduced materials pr time investment, so you try less popular or dangerous places to harvest stuff, but other real player’s get pushed to the same places, so it’s easy to waste a trip.
The economy is already destroyed with stupid prices due to easy money from owning places like WW and EF. Making say mining nodes and the like instanced would just mean you could farm without having to fight bots and be able to get decent amounts without needing the AH.
It would also lower the end cost of crafting which would maybe make crafting viable again cause right now it far too expensive to craft items, looking at armor and weapons, and you likely get useless junk back.
Coinselling services are amazon behind the curtains. Theyve used forumbots to spam reddit to promote the game so would not be surprising at all what lengths theyre willing to go to squeeze some extra $$$ from stupid players that weirdly enough get banned for buying coin so that they have to repurchase the game to continue playing.
