Missing Smelting Gear

  • What is your character name in New World: Krojak Yaegar
  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: Orun
  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: I opened 64 Purple level 3 Smelting Aptitude crates in very rapid succession using both hands to double click the left mouse button. I did this within the first minutes of the Smelting Gear patch dropping. I received zero pieces of Smelting Gear.
  • Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug
  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: I invested a significant amount of wealth before the patch to build the stockpile of 64 level 3 Smelting Aptitude crates. I received zero pieces of Smelting Gear as a result.
  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: No.
  • (if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced: Here is my current smelting level.

  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: This may have been corrected in a patch since, but opening every crate as fast as humanly possible was the condition for the bug at the time.

I opened the in game feedback system and submitted information on this bug the day this occurred, hoping to hear back from AGS and have this issue resolved. It’s been some time, and there has been radio silence. Hoping to try and reach out through here to have a different result.

Meh, they stated there was no bug. It’s only a 1-2% drop rate, and RNG is massive, could easily open 100 chests without receiving smelting gear, while the person next to you gets 2 pieces in 10 chests. - Also not sure if crates acquired before the addition of the gear ever had a chance to drop it, nobody i know that had stockpiled them did.

I apologize you were not able to get any pieces of smelting gear from the 64 aptitude crates. This is not the experience we want our players to have.
