I’ve seen people exploiting the mob “KOTEMOS” in the Garden of Genesis by going back to the end of the aisle and going into the altar again and then the mob will keep respawning. People are using this method to farm GS, gears and other mats. - Is this a bug or an exploit: bug also exploit

I’m sorry but this is no different than the Brute in Reekwater or farming the Priests in Myrk on rotation. He isn’t doing any major exploit, if anything they had to use a key to do it at the very least unlike people farming the open world bosses on repeat.

Unfortunately, it is very, very different. AGS has stated that Dungeon Bosses has a very high chance when dropping to increase the HWM, while the Siren Brute being Open World has very low chances. Also, the spawn rate shown in the video is rather quick if compared to Siren Brute.
The two priests farm (even after they fixed the t5 azoth staff) in Opulence is at least open world dungeon without needing a key, there’s a fixed respawn timer as well and it’s highly contested by heaps of folks. If you don’t see how this is at a minimum abuse of game mechanics then I don’t know what to say. There is no way they intended for one orb, something that is a bit difficult/time-consuming to obtain, to equate to as many kills as you can per 4 hours as someone has said… all those loots to increase your watermark gears to 591 that easily. This is absolutely a part of the ongoing problems.
Another TTVer abusing this bug and doesn’t care about the community manager’s response to this. I’ve filed an in-game report on this dude for abusing the hyper gear score boost.
Agreed, there is a reason why everybody needs a key to enter the dungeon. It is different from the open-world bosses. They should be banned for sure.
I disagree - they should disable the Expedition until they fix… they should never ban players for their own incompetence, and while New World does have decent animations and visuals, whatever is related to tech and code, be it on the client or on the server, it’s shameful - they should be embarrassed to the point of resignation. I’d agree someone using a kernel/driver loader to inject into EAC should account for a ban, but you see… the person really had to go out of their way to seek for unfair advantage.
That’s true. It always takes two to tango. But exploiting the bug while blatantly promoting it in public is banable I think.

in the end is what Amazon decides, but IMO, making exploits public has good effects… we cannot use “common sense” to dictate what is a bug or exploit, as we know, there is no such thing as common sense. And the Game Developer needs to start using some sort of In-Game feed to warn players what are these bug and exploits, at least as a warning system - case people don’t listen and continue utilizing them, I’d think a ban would be justifiable.
To ban someone for it is the way to lose business. If I bought something from Amazon and it arrived broking they either send me a new product or refund my money, but in a game Amazon selling you a broke game and then bans you from playing said game. How does this business plan make sense? Fix the so called exploits that you the Developers or game creators messed up. The community is literately being punished for your mistake.
When the developers instructed people to stop, people (like Omni) mocked Amazon and continued to do it until they started to threaten bans. That’s when Omni stopped, but after he was openly trash talking Amazon and admitted to doing it for hours already.
If you want people to keep business, get rid of the people ruining the business, address the problem, and resolve the problem… Not encourage the behavior.
Omni has played ALL of the BETA’s and Alpha. He was invited to play it he showed them all the “Exploits” then. Amazon chose to release the game with the same mechanics as the beta and alpha, so it his fault? Or does Amazon controls what happens? They can easily go in and turn off the boss spawn, or stop the loot drop, or put a timer on the loot drop? Amazon new it was broke and did nothing about it. But again blame the player not the business and this is why the player base has dropped by 80% and will continue until they fix it.
I can tell you to stop speeding in you car all day long but guess what, you’re probably still going to speed until I put a cop car out there to make you stop. There’s no difference with a game, I shouldn’t have to tell you to stop, I would just stop the boss from spawning or removed the loot table. There easy fix for everyone not just a select few who stream. What about all the other exploiters that don’t stream? They still get to do it? So they stopped a handful of people from doing it. But how many others are still doing it? It’s a farming MMO.
Some said it takes them 9 hours of grinding to raise their GS to 591 from scratch by using this method - which is definitely not the common way to raise HWM. So the judgment of “exploit” is not only based on common sense but also based on this unusual way to raise HWM quickly. I call this “unusual” because the HWM system should be a long-grinding process according to AGS. In this respect, they did give instructions on how this system works or else I won’t come up here to report this bug. Again, not saying everyone should be banned but those who exploiting it while promoting it should be.
I agree to disagree on somethings, it still comes down to fix the game, not kill the player base. Streamers advertise these games and word of mouth advertisement travels faster then anything else. Fix the problems and show that you care about your “product” or people won’t buy your product because 30 streamers told you not to, to a viewer base of tens of thousands potential customers. 80% player base since release is a lot.
