Don’t forget to check the Known Issues List to see if your issue is currently being worked on by the dev team.
We also have existing workaround for some issues that you can find here:
What is your character name in New World: Henri Todoroki
What server/world did you experience your issue on: El Dorado West Coast
Describe the issue you are experiencing: Player named Mokiii has been using speed exploit in OPRs and in PvP in general to gain massive advantages in PvP combat
Is this a bug or an exploit: EXPLOIT
(if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: Causes unfair advantages to players who play legitimately
(if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: Can’t really recover from deaths and disadvantages for a player that speeds around like the flash
(if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced: Proof from a player who had to fight him and whispered. DMs shows clear intentions and indications of using it as well as seeing it in combat
What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: I don’t know how this speed boost exists. Some weapons have been doing it more lately like GA but I believe it is hatchet in these instances.
AGS, these bugs are getting worst and worst. Please fix as soon as possible. This is ruining the player base who work on improving their gameplay and enjoying the content.
Multiple uses can occur by accident. When I was levelling strength weapons the hatchet bug was in effect. I had no idea about it and I don’t think many others did at the time either. I had finished levelling it before people started talking about it. And I wasn’t a forum member at the time.
I had no idea it was bugged, i don’t pay attention to my buffs as they are all generic icons and you can’t hover the cursor over them to see what they are. I do remember telling my guild mates that it seemed very OP and was due a nerf. The thing was a lawnmower.
My point being I was unintentionally exploiting that bug the whole time. I had no clue although it did make sense why sometimes it didn’t feel as powerful as at other times. In retrospect those times it felt weaker were probably when I had just logged in.
Like it’s launch MMO, you expect some of the weapons to be over tuned. Why would you assume it’s a bug and not just a balance issue? Honestly I liked it so much I planned on returning to it once I had capped all weapons. So you have to be careful how you handle each case, sometimes it will be truely unintentional.
That being said if it’s something really egregious and obvious like multiple duping I agree you need to act swiftly and harshly.
Did you read the DM in the video? This guy is known to have done It numerous times in OPR cause I faced him and have played with him being on the same team. The guy does it all the time. Thats exploiting.
Why are you defending something so obvious? Doesn’t make sense.
I didn’t watch the video, I was just reading the comments when I saw yours. Did you not read my post?
I was defending no one, I was just pointing out there could be times when a bug/exploit may not be so obvious, to the point of being accidental to the person doing it. You were calling for an outright permanent ban on anyone who exploits. I was telling you of my experience with the hatchet bug, and how I knew something was off but seriously thought it was just a OP balance issue. Under what you were saying that would justify a permanent ban. I grinded that weapon to 20, I would call that multiple uses. It wasn’t intentional, but to someone aware of the bug they may of thought it was intentional.
I also stated “That being said if it’s something really egregious and obvious like multiple duping I agree you need to act swiftly and harshly.”
I would say from what your describing that he would most likely fit the description of egregious. Hence a swift and harsh punishment would be in order.
All I am saying is not every case is going to be so black and white and calling for permanent bans across the board won’t serve anyone well.
To be honest the reason i probably spoke up was mainly the mention of perma bans. I fully support them in the right circumstances, but to be honest you see so many posts on the forums about outrageous perma bans with little to no recourse from AGS. And with AGS being either unwilling/unable to produce any documentation to support the bans it concerns me.
No doubt many if not most of the bans are justified but I think there are some are the result of deficiencies with their ban system. It definitely concerns me that some honest players are in my opinion likely suffering the consequences of a broken system. Taking away something someone could have invested 1000 hours into arbitrarily is definitely worrisome.
