Honest reviews are what are needed.
If 1.1 had made progression easier rather than harder, and if the whole setup was designed more to cater to new players than to the people who got to the top of the player pyramid most quickly and now want people to exploit, I would agree with supporting more players joining the game.
Unfortunately, AGS chose the opposite approach…
It doesn’t really tell “them” anything, they aren’t going to bend to your will. Some players like the changes, some dont. Quit being children and deal with it.
All review bombing the game does is make any potential new players not buy the game due to the bad reviews. People crying about the population dropping while taking steps to stop any new people from wanting to buy the game is retarded.
It doesn’t matter tho. From day one this community has been toxic as hell about anything and everything and granted there have been problems but most of it just seems like a bunch of children throwing their toys out the pram when they don’t get their own way. Even if they do revert the changes the PVE cuddle crowd don’t like there will be something else tommorow for another bunch of people to cry over.
I’m done looking at these forums. I wash my hands of this madness.
I think the community is trying as hard as it can to tell the devs “Fix this”, but a small number of people, yourself included, are saying “No, we like having people easier to kill, like having slower progression by the people not at max everything”, and so on, and the devs are listening to them. So the community yells harder.
I also think the people supporting the devs’ decisions see the negative writing on the wall and are trying to find people to blame if the game goes down, because they simply will not accept that there are not enough pk-type players to support an AAA level MMO.
Why would you recommend something that is bad to others? That is just dumb.
No even before review bombing them the devs tried their best to communicate with us and tell us their vision of the game which they got closer each update at a time

It’s the only way to go about it. When the complaining stops but the numbers are still going down. That’s when you need to worry. Because that’s the point where people have stop caring and moved on.
It’s delusional to think review bombing will fix anything.
All it does is make sure all funding for future development is canceled.
Immagine you’re an investor… would you risk money on a game that has overwhelming negative reviews? Obviously not.
Are you entitled to review bomb? Absolutely, but don’t do so thinking you’re helping make the game better. That’s just ignorant.

The reviews are real. If investors make decisions based on them, it is silly to blame the reviewers when it is the game’s fault they wrote the reviews.
Well every mmo is doomed to fail because people have no clue what they actually want lol.
I don’t blame the reviewer and I think people should review honestly. What I don’t like is the incorrect idea floating around here that you can help fix the game by participating in a review bombing. Like I said, that’s misguided.
I had to change my review from positive to negative because they ruined the game. I’m not looking for an outcome from that. My review is meant to inform, not change anything.

I hardly flagged before the luck changes. I don’t dislike pvp there just wasn’t a reason. Now there definitely is I noticed a huge increase In items. And when another player shows up I just swap on my voidbent and slap them… my mining gear also isn’t horrible. Full str plate. I can fend off people pretty easily in it.

Theres a big diff between us wanting to kill it we don’t…we want them to own up and fix the mess they made and stop the bs lying. when half your community tells you somethings broken and you reply with well it was a stealth change and then admit it was dumb but refuse to change/fix/revert? yeah that’s a great way to tell the players EFF off…
I left my negative review but I also writ a book on dozens of issues that any new player will encounter and wtf and quit. such as questing system being unrewarding or the azoth bs. or the trader nerf that only further makes low tier items the best to craft.
this game the last 4 weeks have been a disaster because of poor decisions. and it will get worse till they change the mindset…
players are right they are wrong and they know it but they also have said they really do not care. so yea a lot review bombed.
If they cared they would be doing and going out of their way over the weekend to get this crap sorted. just like many games have…devs have gave up there time to get it fixed on there time. is it wrong? a bit sure but the issues are the messup they made.
I used to run QA/GM over on rappelz before it was ran into trash. i used to be QA on lineage2 before they decided they no-longer cared for having a QA staff and wanted to rely solely on player reports which half will never report exploits so they can abuse it…
They have the option hell they could hire community QA staff from players who are interested in helping the game who would do it for free like some games have done and just toss them ingame shop currency for helping.
Instead we get a company that does not seem to take the right routes and ignores feedback like blizzard is doing. and how Ion even stated we hear you but we do not care this is what’s happening here and look how that’s going? blizzard lost a lot when ion made his statement.
In all honesty, AGS has lost already all they can do is fix the game and try to grab players interested as community QA and possibly gamemasters to police bots or being able to report them to an online staff with proof that has the bot nuked.
It’s very clear amazon has no idea what they are doing. they have the passion but they do not have the mindset right. blizzard did for 10 years then lost it and now it’s killed half the games.
they can learn from the last 7 years from blizzard. they can learn from BDO as well.
I fear though they do not want to.
I wish this game had a Community Staff system by community picking players to ease the burden of the AGS staff. i’d go out of my way to put half my time into testing . games I currently play beside this have them two do. and they select players as less powerful members of the team to test x area before a patch goes live so they can see if it’s ready.
Such as crafting. or trade post etc so.
Issue is amazon seems understaff and does not care atm. which is odd for a company who owns hundreds of billions.
New World has its own issues, of course. But the beginnings of this game remind me so much of ESO, and Wildstar. In 1 to 3 years they will either become successful like ESO, ( It was bad at launch) or they will refuse to change, and totally die like Wildstar ( Catering to PvE elitist players and game play) did.
Lets face it, majority of players don’t PvP. It’s understandable why, for various reasons. MMORPG’s that are really successful have a good balance of both.
Ah yes.
Criticizing an objectively BAD product == BOMBING/BRIGADING therefore should be discredited as much as possible
