The motes to Quintessence ratio was designed at launch with the mechanism that elemental animals would drop quints everytime and each server sustaining max 1000 people on the map.
Since the nerf to the elemental beasts, I feel 60 motes required to craft just one Quintessence is too much since each mote plant/node gives only 6-8 motes and even the rare tier 4/5 mote nodes give max 20-30 and there aren’t a lot of those rare nodes. And we need Quints to craft any of the valuable crafted goods, like cut pristine gems, honing stones, balms, potions, etc.
I’m not sure if it’s the same on every server, but on EU Barri, motes have a minimum price of 2 coins each, some like Soul motes are 3.7 each!! This is going to be a disaster soon for crafters with the increasing server cap and population.
So there are 3 options:
Increase the mote drop range to at least 5 times the current one, i.e. 30 motes instead of 6 from the lowest tier
Decrease the motes required to craft quints, i.e. probably cost 30 motes to craft a quint rather than the current 60 motes
Make all nodes instanced with it’s own timer, something similar to chests.
I feel the same problem is going on with respect to lodestone, ironwood, wyrdwood, wirefiber etc. and if something is not done to address this issue, then AGS better just make this a PvP-only game with just outpost rush, 3v3, 5v5 whatever other PvP modes and just remove the beautiful map they’ve created cause nobody’s gonna wake up 5am in the morning just to gather few resources!
You only actually need about 40 motes to craft a quint because you have a 20% bonus when refining the motes. Also, next update youll be able to craft legendary tools and theres a new tool perk that gets you extra motes when harvesting or something like that
I feel the tool perk will not help too much. There’s just too much competition for nodes nowadays and really hard to see nodes that are still up and not already gathered by other players or bots.
I mean I seriously haven’t understood why a player not interested in PvP flagging and only wants to level up a crafting profession and make some coins should still race other players/bots just to gather resources in this game.
Gathering resources should not be competitive unless it’s a really, really rare resource which is used to say probably craft a legendary or something.
If i understand the perk correctly you can get the motes from anything including trees. It just says from “nodes” so… and it also says “moteS” so im guessing it will give like 3+.
