Motes, we need more of them and something done about the Bots

I’m looking forward to the new legendary tools giving motes, but really think they need to find ways to increase the number of nodes. Been really focused on suggesting dynamic nodes as well. I’m always worried about instanced nodes because they do not promote open world exploration and players and up solving the most efficient loops. Then all of the other nodes never get used because everyone is running the most efficient loop instead. Definitely think there needs to be a fix, just hoping they have been working on dynamic nodes since launch.

2000 and now 2500 server size and the current static nodes just cannot support everyone. Gathering is becoming kinda stressful. We definitely need a fix.

Yeah honestly from a gathering perspective I think the game was best at the 500-800 population range. We definitely stressing the severs in terms of resource availability here.

Instances nodes are the fix, there is nothing there in the open world. Everything is instanced and gated, so we can drop the “open world” thing.

We have a beautiful, big, handcrafted and many times copy-pasted, almost empty world with nothing to do other than to gather some animal skins.

As they keep pushing instanced content, open world is nothing but a big container for everything else.

Long ago it costed like 200 azoth to teleport, so walking was an option and you could appreciate all the stuff around, but now with all the QoL, you walk around and notice that there’s nothing out there worth flagging (for the so demanded open world pvp), and gathering, everyone has a map so there’s no exploration, and hasn’t been in a long time.

Instanced nodes, make them 12 hours, I don’t care, crafters will get enough to craft, sellers can still sell, and everyone can do them dailies without having to get a 2nd mortage.

agreed i came from a server that had about a 500 pop and you could farm pretty easy but still a little contested. this was perfect

Unfortunately it is not the fix as tempting as it might be. It might fix some things, but in other ways it harms the game. For one it removes player to player interaction in an MMO. It also encourages players to solve the most efficient resource runs and stick with those and not venture into the open world. Competition to a point drives people to go to other uncontested areas.

The open would in this game is considered one of the most gorgeous and beautiful experiences. It’s unfortunately barren in some ways, but it’s also a fresh MMO still and needs more content to be added and compounded on top of itself. The game shouldn’t keep pushing towards instanced content. It is an important tool but should not be overused either.

Ideally random/dynamic nodes on top of the current static nodes would be most ideal. Rewarding players exploring the open world and stumbling upon extra resource nodes, world bosses, treasure maps, raffle ones, abandoned caravans, orichalcum meteors falling at night, bandits, single loot treasure chests, etc.

The open world just needs to be expanded upon, not killed with more instanced content. It needs a fine balance but I think instanced nodes although they can solve the resource gathering problem it just makes the open world a single player experience in an MMORPG.

You guys never research and it shows… Anyways in the Brimstone release we will be able to get 600GS Legendary Tools that have 5 perks the 5th one is a 100% chance and is a new perk from one of the following. This will make potions cheaper, honing stones cheaper and everything else mote related :slight_smile:

Not sure if it helps but we did discuss the new legendary tools above already. I think it’s about 400 motes/hour if you gathering hysopp and like 200 logging?

I know about the tools but i dont think that they are as good a fix as other people do. now in gonna need 7 different legendary tools 1 for each mote? and then motes are not guaranteed every time and only give you 1-3 motes is the most ive seen on PTR. so while i think this is a good step i also think more should be done. like maybe the tools and lowering the cost of motes for each wisp, essence, quint. but thanks for the input its appreciated.

Resources are and should be limited. Otherwise they would lose its value completely. Why don’t you harvest something else than camped nodes? Sell it on TP and buy what you can’t harvest.

That won’t fix the bot problem. Bots are easy enough to kill with mobs. The bots just outlast your will to kill them. I killed this one bot probably a 100 times. It just kept coming back. I grew tired of it. It didn’t.

Increase nodes or node respawn rates, decrease the number of bots, or decrease server populations. Or some combination of those

Its also, Mr Researcher. Not 100% guaranteed. Saw plenty of 600gs ori tools on the PTR that did not have the perk. It may lean heavy in that direction but its not set. And its not the huge amount some people think it is. It’s 1-2 motes max when hitting a node, maybe. Its not going to solve the gathering issue. As others have said. Full high pop servers are a nightmare for resources. The Devs have nerfed farming compared to what it used to be. And while this does show that they see this issue and are trying to fix it, the problem is just simply there arent enough resources for everyone on these servers. :confused:

yeah they actually need to fix these bots fast. I dont think they really did anything last time tbh. The game went on life support and people running bot accounts just stopped because it wasnt worth it
