Today, during the Orofena Housing Competition, a couple contestants had the statuette from the Mother’s Love Shrine, and some folks were thinking the ghostly voices (the late wife of one of the Devs, Shawn) were adding to the ambience, some folks thought it was hilarious and spooky, and it was hard to get mad at folks, because they didn’t know the back story behind it. After a few folks explained the story, it created a somber moment. Beautiful, but very sobering. Out of respect, we paid tribute:
This shrine is Due West of Mourning Bridge, in Mourning Dale, and can be reached by scaling the rocks. When you get there, the music changes, the scenery changes, and it’s very beautiful. Take care when reading the note, I believe part of the note in the game was from the obituary. But it was hard not to get that choking feeling in the back of your throat, especially those of us who have a family of our own and this could have happened to us.
I’m going to write an article about this in the “New World Times” (new community publication) Lore Weaver Chronicles section, explaining what this shrine is about, and hopefully more people can visit this shrine and see something so beautifully done. The scenery choice was perfect as well, if you stay till morning, as the sun rises and casts its rays over the shrine. The entire art team of New World deserve a huge pat on the back with this one.
