I think mounts would be a cool idea if they could avoid it breaking PvP. But yeah, there is a lot of fast travel so it’s not too important. But I’m right there with you, I love collecting items like pets/mounts. Hopefully they’ll at least add pets for the houses!
I think the game is perfectly fine without mounts, I literally run everywhere and when i need to go somewhere far I just fast travel… it’s not hard, man…

The issue is not everyone has hours to pump into NW. Also no one is forcing people to use them, another thing i find funny about people " if mounts are added i’ll quit, it ruined every other MMO?" Oh yeah like WHAT one, PLEAES do tell, last i checked wow is going even tho it’s low player base, FF14 is fine, Rappelz, is still there,etc. Everyone MMO at one point is or will add them, if you dont like just quit. You people and whining about “mah immersion” or “PVP” DONT UES IT THEN OR BUY IT for that matter.

For those against it, you don’t have to get a mount if and when it becomes available. You can keep spending resources on FT (just watch them add those resources to the cash shop soon btw, so you can complain about that when it happens) or you can just keep playing #wastingtimewalking
For those of us who have RL and can’t spend hours walking around, having mounts to speed up questing would be great. Alternatively, free FT would be a good middle ground.

I for one and one of those that want mounts, and I don’t even care if they increase my speed. I just like riding my mount across open world in MMOs.
What I would like to see in mounts (nothing mythical) only regular animals:
Horses
Donkey’s
Maybe Oxen
Carriage (with the ability to attach said animals)
Also it would be nice to have the mount able to carry extra weight. The carriage could be used to transport large amounts of storage to different towns when needed. Again I don’t even care if they add extra speed, I just like mounts.

Quit here and go to what other game that doesn’t have mounts? Its almost impossible to find an “excellent” game that doesn’t have mounts.
I for one hope they add mounts, because players like you are some of the first ones to get them when they are available, I’ve seen it happen too many times.
And if I am wrong about you, thats fine, just remember to send me all your gold when you quit, New World would be better without you.
P.S. - Just so you all know this is a request from players yes. But the developers already said they will be adding mounts. So if you are one of those who doesn’t want mounts, then you might as well quit now. Mounts are coming to New World whether you like it or not.

Yea I dont see why so many people are against mounts. The majority of this game is running around (unless queue). Running is not fun. Having faster ways of getting to the actual game would ONLY be a good thing. The only reason I can see for people saying they don’t want mounts is because they want the game to fail since mounts would mean less time spent doing boring things.
Honestly I would want either mounts or just remove the Azoth cost for fast travel. No need to limit us in both ways. Hell, I would love both, but just one would be a massive improvement to the game.

Honestly id be happy with mounts only being 15% faster, i just want to collect them from bosses and achievements.
And if you do not have any Range in your Kit? How do you dismount players? No thanks.

I enjoy running around, pickup up stuff, seeing things.
Also I assume that it will ruin half of the smallscale open PvP scene.

And if youre only melee how do you chase people down when theres no stamina cost for running?
Map is huge and confirmed getting bigger.
Mounts dont need to be 3000%, id be happy with 15% speed increase, i just wan tto collect them from dungeon bosses and earn sweet acheives.
Mounts with any sort of boost are a game play mechanic I hope to not see in nw.
If traveling through this world is so anti gun for you maybe take a look at if the game is for you in general.
Its seems like you want something to hunt for. Might I point you at housing collectables like barkemedies but obviouslt different for X activity? Or maybe titles are Archeologis from finishing the first dungeon once, take that a few steps up for 10 runs to get a masters and 100 for your phd.
These are things to collect and work for that do not punish someone with game mechanics for not getting.

YES i want mounts plz …
to be fair though in pvp doing the faction pvp missions they should be disabled because it rolls a unfair advantage being able to move to quickly back and forth to objective…
some mechanic not unlike the timer given to pvp as you leave town would work !!
