Mounts needed but with limits

So heres my thought on mounts, do i think they need to be in the game? Absolutely! However i do think there should be limits as to how they work. Heres my thoughts!
No mounts whatsoever if you are flagged for PVP as i think it will defeat the purpose of PVP and encountering enemies/other players while attempting to push the Influence or take the forts. I also think the mounted speed shouldnt exceed 30% as i’d still like to have the RUN factor in the game so you arent flying through zones or taking short cuts. As to avoid short cuts, mounts should only be allowed on main roads and not in towns as towns are already laggy as it is. There should be some sort of a cast time or “CALL MOUNT” with a 10second delay or pick it up at a stable outside of a town and drop it off at another stable out side of a town, that way if you dismount on ur way, you cant remount back up to avoid just gather farming everything with the mount. But currently there is a bug with the great axe and Blood Lust where your stuck running 30% faster and having that on, it feels a little more enjoyable to just run from point A-B. so i think having the 30% cap would be perfect. any other thoughts, comments or concerns would be greatly appreciated! again this is all just blabber and nothing will most likely come of it, however, i hope the designers read this and can possibly get ideas!

I don’t get the mindset of being against mounts in pvp. You have a mount, they have a mount, how is that not fair or balanced? I don’t do wpvp, so i don’t honestly care, just thought i would mention it.

If mounts were to appear in game, the ONLY thing i’d like to them to do is allow the player to afk while the mount runs along the road from one town the the next. That would alleviate SO MUCH TEDIUM.

To me, in PVP with mounting, lets say someone is running faction quests with a mount and there is another group fighting one another, i feel having a mount could just allow players to almost ignore the fighting n just pushing the quests. the whole point of pvp to me is in the name and with mounts, i feel like it would just lose that engagement of being on foot doing the missions. if that makes sense?

They will be. When AGS decides the map is big enough.

My preferred conditions:

  • No pocket mounts so you have to go to a stable where your mount is and get it and if you die you’re going back to that stable to get it.
  • Your mount draws aggro from mobs and if you don’t defend it then predators can kill it or injure it.
  • Your mount - if you’re flagged - can be killed by enemy players.
  • It’s great that we could leap off of Everest and live but if you ride your mount off a big enough cliff you’re going to kill it (I did this once in Skyrim, made it almost to the top of a mountain and fell off - while I lived I watched the horse bounce it’s way all the way to the bottom and it was dogmeat when it finally stopped).
  • You don’t get 50 mounts, maybe you get as many as you have houses…and if you don’t have a house you have one?

I want mounts and heavy cavalries that can charge and trample all those disgusting AoE blobs into oblivion.

i think that if you max all skills to 200, you should get a horse from your faction. customizable too, you can pick your own breed and color and color patterns. that would be sick. personalized mounts.

i do agree 100% on the 50 mounts. you get a horse or some sort of mount and thats it, can pick colors and maybe customize it. but thats your mount n thats it, no RARE mount drops or anything of that sort because it will just get farmed like every other game. As far as flagged mounting, i cant get behind that, i feel it will ruin pvp. can have set people running mounts for objectives and just completly skipping the combat. i like the idea of you going back to your mount where you dismount and having it be attacked by predatorial animals

like a specialty faction mount? not bad idea. have like faction banners and such on it. can maybe add armor to mounts and can dye color of faction.

see how technical it has just to give people a conditional “non-combat” speed buff?

No - No mounts… This is ship wreck island full of zombies and pirates, which supports maybe a dozen cattle and beasts which cannot really be domesticated (like elk and bison).

The entire strategy of the game revolves around its geography - get your walking shoes out just like Lewis and Clark did

I think mounts would destroy the game, try to buy couple of houses, get good at trading. Recalls aren’t too bad. I cannot imagine 10 people using mounts and kill you during pvp quests. People already ganging up against solo players, cannot imagine what happens if we have mounts.

another point and case to why i would pref no mounted during PVP flag. i think with the right conditions it could be done

Please forget about open world PvP balance, nobody bothers to flag alright? There ain’t any rewards. It’s a waste of time. The devs might as well remove it altogether.

Done! no complaints about mounts affecting your open world PvP.

I mean, it wouldn’t be an issue at all if mounts cannot be mounted while PvP is enabled.

Why the exclusion when mounted combat has existed for precisely as long as mounts have been a thing?
