Moving on (this sucks)

See you tomorrow in game

OMG why are you guys making these straw man arguments? I have LITERALLY said the opposite.

So stop making straw man argument.

If you have played a game for 400h, YES absolutely you have got your moneys worth. No matter what kind of bugs the game. If you do anything for 400h at the cost for 40Euro then YES you have got you moneys worth. But we are not really talking about money here are we? We are talking about feeling and time. Have the experience and current feelings been worth the time invested? That is really what you are asking, right?

I can only speak for myself.

Yes

If you haven’t then to bad. But that is normal. Have you never bought a game before, played for a while, and then realized, nah, not for me? Why is this game in particular such a big deal?

Hundreds of thousands of people are playing this game every day and enjoying it. I don’t know why you think it’s absurd that people enjoy different things.

If you keep up posting Quotefest posts like this i will put you on ignore.
Its a lame discussion tactic quoting and answering parts of other posts and ignoring the rest like this.
And annoying as feck.

Dude I literally quoted your entire post.

So that’s another straw man. 2 straw mans like that and you are ignored. bye.

Damn I’m using the word literally a lot. But I literally did do that.

Are you for real?
The game is broken, if i pay 40$ for something broken that i put away BECAUSE ITS BROKEN i havent gotten my moneys worth.

Are you dense?

On your point that I can just play another weapon: we can agree that that’s a significant change to my gameplay.

On your point that server merges are coming: there is no evidence that this is true at all. The information we have is they are talking about it and there is nothing beyond that. Remember server transfers that were supposed to be available to any server but turned out to not be true?

Anyway there is more that I could not pick at but I just wanted to say one last small thing. When I say the game isn’t fun I wonder who you think I’m talking about? It’s my opinion and that is implied. I mean I don’t know what you think I only know what I think about it being fun. Why would you assume I’m stating it as a fact? Even though it is an objective fact that the game is not fun for me. That’s it that’s all that means.

Quoting posts to pieces is a well known tactic used by people that cant answer the questions without taking things out of context.

And please, i really hope im on ignore.

You can also play the same weapon, right?

It’s confirmed that they will happen. Do you want me to show you where?

I am sorry that you don’t enjoy this game, I really am. But what you have said so far doesn’t really seems like a big deal at all, at least from my point of view.

Yes show me where. But please keep in mind that a statement of desire by AGS is not the same as a confirmation. Dates times details are more like confirmations but even then they botched the server transfers and never made good on their promises.

Server Merges

Server merges are on the horizon. But what does this actually mean? There are a few action items that need to be addressed before we are confident that merging worlds will be a net positive experience for our players.

We need to test our technology. We had tested world merges in Closed Beta which caused a persistence issue that has since been resolved, and we continue to test merges with our team and non-public worlds. Since Beta, we have addressed issues as they arise, and have added quality of life changes like a countdown timer for worlds set to merge. The Public Test Realm (PTR) provides us with our next opportunity, tentatively scheduled for Monday morning (PST), to further test this technology before using it in the live game.

When we are ready to take this technology to your worlds, there are a few things we look at in order to determine if the world is a candidate for merge, including but not limited to population size and overall engagement.

Tactically, worlds are merged within a world-set. This allows us to streamline the merge process by removing the requirement to check for multiple characters per player (this is why only one character is allowed per world set), as well as checking language recommendations (recommendations are made at the set level).

But there is more nuance to these merges. Once we’ve identified a world as a candidate for merge, we compare it to the existing worlds by reviewing elements like faction representation and overall population in the set to find the most optimal partner world. While we cannot guarantee exact matches, we make every attempt to choose worlds for merge that are complementary.

Players on worlds identified for merge will be informed in advance of the plan. Players with characters on a merge candidate world will not lose their progress (including gold, items, faction, and company); however, territories will belong to the companies on the partner world. For example, if World X is confirmed as a merge candidate, and World Y is identified as the partner world:

  • Players on World Y are not impacted, other than an influx of players on the world. World Y territory ownership persists after the merge. Companies are compensated 50K Coin, which is 3.3x the cost of war, for loss of territory ownership due to a world merge.
  • World X characters are relocated to World Y - characters, companies, housing, gold, and owned items remain intact, but territory ownership will not persist on the new world.

At this time we are not offering transfers to players after a world has been merged. This position may change as we learn more.
[Dev Blog] Update on Current Issues #2

And here is the latest mention of mergers:

Mergers are confirmed and will happen. But we don’t know when yet. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when and how.

is there a reason everyone feels the need to spam forums before they quit the game? im really not interested in what you think about the game or why you are leaving. Just do it and get it over with. Bye

Its funny how you use ignore as weapon.
First you post lots of subjective information, then when people react to it you start defending yourself by quoting the posts and answering only the parts “you” want to answer.
Then you start making strawman arguments into ignore threats.

Well i guess thats how people behave when they loose arguments.

My friend was unable to transfer to my server because he rolled in the wrong region. We read the server transfer information and it said you could transfer to any server. That turned out to not be true. They then said they were working on it. Still waiting.

I didn’t see the date there or any details about which servers are being merged. It feels a lot like the transfers to me. I don’t trust AGS as much as you do.

I’m glad you love the game. But it’s time to end this conversation because you don’t seem to be able to just say oh I get your how you feel and move on. I get that you love the game and I’m not trying to change your mind. What are you doing?

everyone saying “…can I please have your stuff?” dont get it.

  1. we all are sitting in the same boat. We all believed in New World. We all loved the same product. we all are ONE.
  2. we all have just ONE option to say what we feel. ->forums.
  3. no one hears us. we just talk from customer to customer. (ags doesnt listen or give feeback)
  4. All the cry is NEEDED to get them understand what problems they have.
  5. if someone saying “iam fine with new world” then you dont need to be here and troll.
  6. If you think something is wrong with New World then your voice is needed here. HELP / support with your voice.Otherwise go and play the game.

Or, you know, those of us still interested in playing can use the stuff these people who supposedly are quitting won’t.

Doesn’t have to be a negative comment

In regards to that: OP I’ll take your stuff if you’re genuinely leaving.

Well I can just quote my original post:

I understand that everyone can’t like every game. I understand why people want to quit. I understand why people are angry at AGS for bugs and exploits.

But as I wrote in my original post. I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal for this game in particular.

Well I probably do understand why and it’s that reason I wanna talk about.

My guess is that the real issue here are peoples expectations and the grand plans they had.

I think YOU need to be nerfed

Oh I’m sorry: I don’t post on forums of single player games. Also single player games don’t change this often or much. Finally I’m pissed and feel like the changes made since launch are terrible and I had planned to play this mmo for a long time. That’s why you don’t see me posting on dark souls saying I quit! However, it’s fair to post that in an mmo.

  1. We all should change this sentence "…can I please have your stuff? for future generations into something POSITIVE.

If you and all other people were in the same boat and experienced the same problems AND loved the same game AND one of these guys and ladies says “iam going” we all shoudnt say …
“can i have your stuff?”

…we all should say “hey. you are going. we keep you in our hearts. whereever you go tell me. i ll help you. you go to gw2 ? i have a char there to help you out. you go to everquest? i can help you out there. To WOW? No problem my friend. i have alot of friends there. We help you there to find your way. because we are family.”

we are on earth and we dont have a second one. we are all in a boat and no one out there can help us. just we . thats all.

now flame if you want

I once said this as a joke, but then I tried it myself and it actually works.

Pretend this is an open beta where you get to keep your progression.

Because everything that you mention here are only in your head. I’m not trying to be a douchbag but think about it. The game works just fine. Your fire staff works just fine. Sure there are annoying bugs and stuff that still needs to be fixed but they will indeed be fixed. In the meantime you can play the game, or not play the game. No biggie. Just play or don’t play the game. Again, I’m not trying to be a dochbag but the game is actually very fun and good value. There are no actual reason for you not to enjoy this game.

Try that, it may work!

That is how I can play a game that I love but still have given a thumbs down on Steam. I often say that I think it’s a shitty game, I love it, but it’s a shitty game.
