This also applies to anyone running Windows 10 on a system with more than 32Cores/64Threads. I have DUAL Xeon 18 Cores 36 threads each. Windows 10 splits my 72 Logical cores into 2x Groups of 36 Logical Cores each. New World is the only game that wont utilize both groups. It will only use 1 CPU unless I single thread through the BIOS, which drops my Logical Cores to 36 making it only 1 Group in Windows 10. I’ve tried process lasso pro to force New World to use both Groups but it works with every other program/game except New World. I know ton of people with this issue. Its very easy to fix, all that needs to be done is to make New World CPU Group Aware and or Numa Aware. Then the game will run twice as good on our systems and open New World up for more people to play/buy.
In process Lasso Steam governs New World. To Disable hyperthreading for new world have to disable it for steam and then new world will inherit those settings.
Thank You for responding! Hyperthreading isn’t the Issue though, I’ve tried that. Also I’ve tried using process lasso “process group extender” and “CPU sets” on New World, New World Launcher, New World Crash Uploader, and steam, but can not get New World to use both CPU groups. Every other game and program will use both groups no problem, Including the launchers and steam. Windows 10 can only make a CPU group of 64 logical cores per group, Windows 11 can do 128 per group. So if you exceed 64 logical core it divides them in half and makes 2 groups. Being that I have 2x 18 Core/36Theads I have 72 Logical cores. So Windows 10 splits them into 2 groups of 36 Logical Cores Each. Now if your still following me New World ONLY uses 1 group period. So if I disable Hyperthreading in Lasso New World will still only use 1 single group limiting me to 18 Logical Cores. When I disable Hyperthreading in BIOS it drops my TOTAL logical cores to 36 so Windows 10 makes only a SINGLE CPU group of 36 Single Threaded Cores. So ether way I dice it I only get 36 Logical Cores in New World, I just did that test to prove the game can span across both CPUs and I get full utilization and it proves New World is not CPU Group Aware.
