Musket and Bow do not deserve Mortal Empowerment

I think it would be reasonable to make mortal empowerment melee only or something like, you get 30% extra damage, but you also take 15-30% more damage.

If they do remove mortal empowerment for range, the musket could probably use a slight damage buff. The bow is fine, however. The bow hits ~30% harder than the musket, so its like a musket with full stacks anyway.

i don’t think any snowballing is good for this game, and bow hits less than a musket because it just shoots faster than musket fyi

A 300/200 con bow hits the same as a 450/50con musket. A 450/50 bow hits ~30% harder than a 450/50 con musket. The bow shoots a lot faster than the musket.

You can test it on a dumby.

my bad… i read it as a minus symbol - but it was tilde symbol ~

but yeah… you have to explain what are those stats, if it is 450 of pure dex, pure int or is there a mix of both, it’s pretty easy to call it on bow cuz’ it only scales with dex

IMO it a bit silly how it gives 30 percent empower at max stacks. This is too much. 20 percent would be better.

It doesn’t need to be removed from the game IMO. Just moved more in line with other empowers.

300 dex 150 intel is what I tested.

did you put T5 elemental gem? that increases dmg as well if we’re talking 150 int

Yes.

In a lot of PvP games, buffs on ranged damage is less than buffs to melee damage.

As a loyal league player and the ultimate balance example, league has the same effect on multiple items have lesser benefit to ranged, maybe AGS should adopt this culture.

alright my guy, let’s stop it here cuz we’re kinda getting off-topic, there’s plenty of variables that we should inspect to find out what is all about that

Huh?

I used a Lazarus bow and an Infamy musket. Both weapons have the same perks. The bow hits at least 30% harder with the same stat point allocation.

i think mortal empower should be nerfed or removed as it is not noob friendly, it creats more gap between skilled player and noobs, which will hurt the game population/activity.
I play light melee rightnow and i just farm them so hard in OPR and make it less fun for all of us.

GS scaling is the right direction, and yes we never wanted or needed this mortal empowerment perk.

Also on ranged, it promots rats playstyle which is no fun for both party

Melee doesn’t deserve the Divine perk. Already hard enough to kill a good geared med bruiser, when they have a competent healer.

See how silly this sounds?

Mortal Empowerment just needs a right out nerf.

If this game starts balancing stuff around noobs, that’ll be the day I officially stop playing.

Mortal Empowerment needs nerfed…not because of “noobs”, but because it’s OP AF. Not just for muskets, but for everyone.

Have you seen a spear/rapier use it? How about S&S/Hatchet…hell, even a fire staff running flame thrower. When you hit the 10+ stacks area, your damage becomes insane, regardless what you’re using.

I’m a musket dex rat. One of our jobs, in wars, is to watch for the assassin builds, and make sure they don’t build up stacks of ME. The perk is insane regardless who uses it.

Just kill the healer then, it’s an easy enough counter. You’re talking about a duo that’s made for survival and comparing that to a single item that increases TTK massively with little to no risk to the user.

Good healers still tank 3-5 players. Especially with a good bruiser peeling for the healer.

However, it’s going to be a little easier to kill healers after the rapier nerf.

It’s usually easier to kill the person the healer is killing opposed the healer himself.

Keep in mind this guy right here is a nasty musket player. Even he says it. Lol.

What server you on now adays anyway?

I think someone said earlier scaling mechanics aren’t needed which isn’t EXACTLY accurate. The implementation was clearly not great though. You could reduce stacks gained from ranged kills to half melee and have it only remove 1/3 on a death or something to make it more balanced than the current state.

AGS seems to not be great at looking at the big picture of basically anything they implement until it goes live and gets broken.
