Obviously that guy has an extreme form of bias against Muskets, he even threatened to get a certain musket player “banned” because he thinks he was cheating even though there was no proof. This guy was posting screenshots asking questions and stuff and keeps making shit posts that is causing defamation to the other person on the recieving end. Hopefully AGS bans these kinds of players because libel / defamation is NOT cool. Witchhunting players who have done nothing wrong other than simply “playing better” is extremely dangerous to the health of this community.

You on the other hand literally every post asking for a damage increase on muskets, even trying to post a picture of low damage saying the damage isn’t good enough. Muskets don’t need an increase of damage at all, stop asking for it.
Personally still would not resort to sliding into someone else’s “dms” and threatening to get them banned because they’re just a much better player ![]()
AGS would also rather not take feedback from people who actually don’t even play the weapon because it’s obvious they just want something that beats them nerfed due to lack of skill. ![]()

This is Musket damage @ 625GS with Keen vicious keenly empowered.
Much respect to the man for streaming and playing WITH the Musket to SHOW the entire New world population what Musket can do in 3v3 (he is by no means a MUSKET main so obviously don’t expect him to land every shot)
Though the key highlight here is the “DAMAGE” of his 625GS Musket. Those numbers aren’t made up, he’s dealing an excessively LOW amount of damage to the point that it’s enough to prove that the Musket is no way even close to being OP and is actually pretty bad looking from this video’s POV. (No you can’t say stuff like cherry picked, go watch his entire 3v3 match and watch him deal an extremely low amount of damage with the Musket)
Nobody can argue against this, this is a LIVE STREAMED event. Accept the fact that Musket NEEDS a rework and a damage scaling improvement! And the developers themselves whom are being SHOT by the Musket are AWARE that the damage is LOW
I see this argumetn all the time, and I can ask the same as always. Have you been targeted by 5 mage? Or 5 bruiser? Or five spear user? the difference against those you cant even run away or LoS them you will just perma stunned and die.
You don’t really play healer right ? In opr I tested many times vs 5 mages. Ranged damage it’s hilarious I just stay in my sacred + beacon = they do nothing. 5 bruisers it’s the same. No VG ? I can troll them all day unless 3 of them are spears. Both of these groups are having less range than musket
+ not insta shots! The thing is I will get jumped by bruisers and mages while musket shoot from save distance. Musket can’t be buffed further! I’ve seen good musket players playing aggressively and beating many people from close range actually so musket doesn’t need more love for sure or you will have full musket opr and in war 10 muskets on a defence destroying everything

Shooting from range have disadvantage too, like running out of render distance, or just simply using cover which lower their damage to zero. And dont try to tell me, a 5man mage or bruiser team wouldn’t destroy you, because you would get 5 hammer stun or ice shower in a second and you would be already dead. unlike against ranged thats just shoots and you can bait with zigzaging and dodges.
And the full musket teams in opr, even 5 musket in a team is already a guaranteed lose, yet you are trying to say its some op thing. Honestly its almost like you just watched some musket youtubers montage who had a good game and you based your entire argument on that while never even played the game.
You are getting nothing really. It is good the way it is. I play the game and faced many bruisers and muskets + played it my self. Musket is good enough.
Sorry but, if your excuse is that you need 5 muskets to kill 1 player, that’s even MORE proof that it needs a buff or rework. As I’ve said, I posted screenshots, the TWITCH VOD of the actual New World 3v3 event against developers where said content creator used a Musket and did those damage numbers. He was like a mosquito bite compared to everyone else in that 3v3, and the New world developers themselves have taken these hits and are AWARE that it is not as strong as the community made it out to be.
Balancing towards 3v3 would be awesome for arenas. It might completely trow it off balance for large scale like war and mid for opr. In war performance it’s terrible so that’s definitely takes away from range players but at this early stage of the game improving musket damage for competitive play will ruin it everywhere else with the glass cannon build. I know people in arena won’t run 5 or 50 con musket and that takes away the damage we see in videos or when we play it ourselves.
If they add bullet travel time and damage fall off from distance then they can make it deadly at close and mid range for all the crazy musketeers that are skilled

Or maybe, the damage you see in videos are on players with 0 resilient and are running full PVE gear that’s why they take so much damage? Any other class hits them they also take the same amount of damage.
In comparison to my 300 dex 200 con bow setup that deals a whopping 5k crit on players
And this is on 200 con btw, I have 12,989 HP that’s a fuckton of health. You can’t use the excuse of bullet drop and projectiles because Rain of Arrows is an AOE ability that you don’t need skill to land on a clump of CCed players.
Yeah sure, but that would make players cry even more. If you guys ever played PUBG you’d know the feeling of getting domed by a Kar98k from 500meters. People think bullet drop / projectiles for a Musket would solve problems when in reality, it’s much harder to track someone moving erratically enough for you to consistently land shots on them. If they move in a straight line, by all means they will die ofcourse but it’s always down to the skill of its user to make a difference.
An average FS flamethrower andy can do so much more than an average Mountain camping Musket andy (because he’s going to get 2 kills and then get farmed by either SnS/BB or a better Musket player)
An average no skill left-clicking GA/WH andy is going to do 300% better than both the previous andys because all he needs to do is mash his keyboard in the right sequence on a group of players on point. That obviously takes no skill at all yet it is the most popular weapon in the game, that speaks volumes already.
Isnt it would just make the musket another bow or firestaff, but weaker? The only unique thing about the musket is its range and that being hit scan, without those its just a weaker ranged weapon.
To make it truly a good medium to close range weapon and not just a two shot rifle and then rapier time they would have to decrease the reload speed, remove the slow while reloading and ability usage and reworking most of the trapper ability if not all of those and the shooter stance.
Im playing mid to close range musket and thats all it does, two quick shot and then using the rapier 90% of the time. Maybe pulling it out again when they start to run away but thats it, close range or point blank shots are completely based on luck to hit or not and way too risky for that extra 2k dmg it deals.
With bullet velocity it would have to get serious amount of buffs and damage drop off shouldn’t be a thing still as it is still a slow firing weapon and not a spammy thing like a bow or fire staff, you got one shot or maybe two if tac reload isnt on cd.
Very recently I’ve been hit for 2.5k consistent shots as medium with 200 con + battle bread. I’m sure you will hit 3+ on light armor without crits

I quoted the twitch vod for everyone, it’s at 5 hours and 15 minutes. Go and watch it, the only time you get hit for 3k is if the Musket is empower-capped with all debuffs on you and all buffs on him stacked for that one 3k shot. But the rest of its shots would be at those numbers that you see from my screenshots.
Like go ahead please, watch the WHOLE 20 minutes of arena and tell me if he’s hit for anything more than 2.5k and how his average damage per shot is at 1-1.6k ![]()
