I’m playing this game since the release, I have 3k hours on the game, so I actually played a lot of weapons but the weapon I used the most was the musket.
I’m not here to tell that musket didn’t need a nerf, cause that’s obviously not true. I don’t really know if developpers really play their game, or read the feedbacks from the PTR before releasing updates. But musket is unplayable right now.
Can’t you please watch this video and tell me if that’s a normal behaviour for you and if you think that’s fun to play ? :
As I said, musket needed to be nerfed but what you’ve done is add a bit of luck to whether or not you hit. This does not do any favors for people who have good aim.
Why didn’t you make this kind of nerf:
After X meters (let’s say 50 or 75) the bullet breaks down. (Impossible to hit after this distance)
Make it so that, like the bow, after a certain distance the bullet falls down.
This would nerf the musket, without making it unplayable or based on luck.
If I could have an answer from a developper that would be nice.
I don’t play musket but I tried it yesterday my musket was attun/vic/crippling powder burn.
150 int/300 dex. In forge my attacks where hitting body shots for like 1.2k on trash, headshots for like 3k not including dot damage. That is straight up garbage. Auto attacks on a life staff do more than that.
In pvp I had same problem this guy has. I would line up a shot on stationary target and still miss. That was the fix for musket? To make it completely unplayable. I was mad when Firestaff was in bad as a firestaff player. But this right here is down right insulting for anyone who ask for weapon balance. This is not balance this is deleting a weapon without deleting it.
A majority of players from what I have read agree that Musket need to be adjusted down (saying this with over 1,000 hours on the Musket). I agree it needed to be done but I also agree they took it to far.
I would wager they will wait one patch to see ‘how it plays out’ and then make adjustments again in the patch after that.
you need to wait 2 seconds without moving your camera zoom and mouse cursor in the same direction, and then ask your opponent not to move too then you might hit the target - RNG shoots even at close range…
Damn me. For whole year musket players answer to anyone saying its op was “get gut”. And now you all come and cry and can admit it was op? Dudes you get what you deserve. If you think that in any reality old muskets will come back you have to think again. Weapon can exists only in 1 of 2 states as dps in NW:
They should have removed 100% of damage off any shot over 40 meters. Adding bloom was the dumbest and most ignorant decision I have ever seen new world devs make. Who the hell ever would of thought that adding this trash was good for the game?
I dont like muskets and was glad they are nerfed, but this clip is hilarious. Making weapon damage rng based is certainly an interesting nerf strategy.
Aimbot musket players in new meta has started to rise again. I guess that thy updated their bot program for aimbot…
Recently, these cheater muskets start to kill with shooter’s stance skill in 40-50 meters range by using musket weapon with NO ACCURACY PERK…
The difference between ACCURACY PERK and NO ACCURACY PERK is huge, but even with ACCURACY PERK your shoots are still RNG that it is not a matter about aiming good or being talented. However, cheaters are cheaters, and now thy updated their cheat software, so NOTHING has changed again.
Bow aimbot kills anyone from far away with so accurate same for fire mages that thy never misses…
AGS has ruined this game that thy cannot even detect any cheat software or ban any of these illegal aimbot cheaters at all…
OPR is not fun at all… Musket is not fun at all to play for both pvp and pve… The damage output and accuracy are in the bottom comparing to other weapon classes where this game is a fast phase pvp and pve game…
