Musket nerf is off-base. Weapon needs to be simplified it rewards skill too much

Stand still? I have 3 dodge rolls, full thrust resistance, full resilience and no matter what I do, strafe, dodge, zigzag they manage to hit and kill me in 3 shots. The only thing that can save you is actual cover which doesn’t exist when you’re trying to get into an OP.

Read THE PTR NOTES. They nerfed MUSKET, stop crying.

I went and put down the musket, slapped on a greatsword and OWNED Muskets with it. I didn’t die in 3 hits like you, I have good movement, good iframe timing and worst of all I’m using an OVERPOWERED MELEE WEAPON

and yes, the nerf isnt even clsoe to what its neeeded…this is an mmo, a weapon shouldnt be 3-4 tapping at a distance no oen else can hit them, period.

EVERY other ranged class in EVERY other mmo relies on KITTING ability to damage, because since they can dps from a distance the devs didnt give them enough dps to BURSt someone down in 3 gcds…THAt is how you balance a ranged class, if you can dps form afar you CANT stand still and need tools to kite around while at the same time you cant have enough dps to burst people down…LITERALY every other mmo that was ever competitive had it that way, counter arguing that jsut further proves your alck of knowldge when it comes to mmo pvp design

Here you go, because you seem to be unable to click on the new world logo and straight up click the PTR link, let me screenshot it as well for ya since you’ve just proven to me how incapable you are to simply click on a few links.

So from 50 to 60% at full range and 30% vs 50% on BA passive. Both these will make little difference from the overall damage reduction of 3-5%

oh let’s forget the fact that they changed shooter stance which is literally the vessel of how Muskets can shoot you at a constant rate. Nice.

I mean, you never played the musket that’s why your lack of understanding is immense on how these things interact with each other.

Good, sitting in a static position 130m from your target pinking them with consecutive shots without them being able to respond is not fun, nor is it engaging pvp.

It would be different in a FPS were everyone is using hitscan weapons and can return fire. But this is an MMO and only one weapon (excluding musket which is close range) having that advantage is not good at all

If you’re just bad with the weapon because of some atrophy or whatever, just use some other weapon, there are several available.

Ok great, now you can stop crying. Ok? If you still cry about the musket AFTER the nerfs that’s 1000 % because you just suck at PvP.

youa re losing your team attempting to explain that to that kid…he fails at competitive FPS games and lives is fantasy ina mmo where 80% of his enemies cant shoot back lmao…

I can almost guarantee that these “nerfs” won’t stop players from using the musket which has become more convenient to use with the changes to power/powder shots.

Nobody is going to find anything convenient about getting chunked while having 50 con because you can’t deal “competent” damage as a 150 con musket with a 2 second base reload time, meanwhile the bow shoots 2 shots per second. Good one.

1.) You need 1-2 seconds to load in an overload shot while moving (you are vulnerable during this state)

2.) You need 2 seconds to reload your musket after every shot (where a mage can simply throw a fireball and you’d cancel your reload just to iframe and end up reloading for another 2 seconds while the mage throws another ability at you)

Very nice interaction, or are you suggesting that the musket player go into a shooter stance in a range where they can get 2-shotted by a bow player while sitting still?

I don’t see why any musket player would change their stats based on these “nerfs”, you’re just spit balling now

this guy is legit trying to jsutify the msot broken design in the history of mmo pvp by saying that musket players will die at close range.

WE ALL AGREE THAT THEY ARE POORLY DESIGNED, stat and ability wise…THAT DOESNT MEAN you should give them dumb damage and range to kill people unchalenged! that is the mos briandead argument i ever read here…

You should be advocating for ags to redesign musket to work as all the other ranged dps classes in other mmos… where youc ant fight further then 50 yards away but have the tools to survive through kiting, yet since they can kite they also CANT burst people down fast, its a perfect ranged dps damage, your skill revollves aroudn ktting long enough to get someone down. I know i know…it might eb chalenging for most of the “musket” players to actualy have to use a brain and have awareness and positioning skills rather then tapping their left mouse button 3 or 4 times…

wdym? Why are you comparing shotgun, range is only 10-15m while musket shoots up to 125m?

We’re talking about “hitscan” mechanics are we not? The blunderbuss is a “HITSCAN” weapon as well. That’s my point, what’s your argument?
