Musket passive Scent of Blood works with any weapon

Describe the issue you are experiencing:
When using the Musket, under the Trapper skill tree the skill “Traps” can be upgraded so you can get the passive “Scent of Blood” which does the following: Regen 100% of weapon damage done as health when dealing damage to trapped targets. As of right now, you do not need to only attack them with a musket to get health regen on a trapped target. You can switch to your other weapon and gain the health regen with that weapon instead.

What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced:
While using the Musket ability “Traps” and upgrading it twice so you have “Scent of Blood”, do the following:

  1. For demonstration purposes, take some damage so you can see the healing effect. If you are full health, you won’t see the healing #, obviously.
  2. Place trap & wait for enemy to walk into it
  3. Switch to other weapon & attack while enemy is still trapped
  4. Enjoy your heals

As long as you have to use your Musket to set the traps… and the traps already remain when you switch weapons - it is intended feature and not a bug - sounds quite reasonable to work :stuck_out_tongue:

Is this how it is intended to work?
I can heal for almost 10K health in one trap with specific combinations. Won’t say exactly how as it is not clear if this is an exploit or not so I don’t want to spread this “little fire”. But to give you an idea, some skills have animation cancels, and if used correctly you can get 3-4 attacks on someone trapped. Healing becomes ridiculous when you start critting. I’m talking about 3-4k heals PER attack.

Well it is 100% dmg after all. And very few people are using muskets and even fewer go for the traps… and ofc Great axe + trap stacks the heals and it feels nice. But giving the fact musket is quite low on the meta list I feel like it is intended thing.
